OKay, just pointing out that Starscream mold has about 5 times as many recolors/remolds.

There are more FOC Combaticons ones too

1. Retail Hasbro

2. Retail Takara

3. SDCC

4. Box set with Grimlock

5. G2

6. Wreckers

7. TFSS Ironfist (okay, just one figure, but the 7th deco!)

My plan was to buy this one version of the Krank mold, so I'm happy it's out.

AnimatedPlastic 2014-07-30 @ 5:49 pm

That was exaggerated sarcasm there Scaleface, but they have used it as many times as Hasbro did the FoC Bruticus set......:tfeveil

Scaleface 2014-07-30 @ 3:52 pm

No, there are 5 versions of this mold. The Classic Seeker is at what, 30? Heck, they used it 6 times right away just for the original Classics/Botcon toys!

AnimatedPlastic 2014-07-29 @ 12:44 am

Wow this mold got almost as much use as the Classics Seeker mold. :tfevil

Final product images of X-Transbots Hoss, not the GoBot Road Ranger.

AnimatedPlastic 2014-01-03 @ 2:11 am

Watched this today.....I'm excited. :tfevil

AnimatedPlastic 2013-12-28 @ 8:59 pm

Definitely looking forward to getting these figures. The way the face swaps on Huffer is kind of interesting.....I actually prefer his faceplated head to the non. :tfevil

AnimatedPlastic 2013-12-26 @ 11:40 pm

Nice! Are we going to see Huffer and Pipes soon to the Retail outlets??! Looking forward to these guys. I dunno about the light blue though....is there some reference they are trying to make with that color? :tfevil

Scaleface 2013-12-26 @ 11:03 pm

Some new images from X-Transbots, who said they are trying to decide if it should have grey or blue thighs.

BTW - Face is reversible, with mask on one side.

Transbot90210 2013-12-21 @ 9:23 pm

That Pipes is looking so so glorious. I am still very undecided about Huffer and who to buy it from or to wait for Hasbro but that Pipes.

Scaleface 2013-12-21 @ 2:18 pm

Speaking of Pipes, here is a Stax test shot...

formerly nortagem 2013-12-07 @ 11:21 pm

MP Cyclonus & Scourge?! :drool

Of course, we'd need a Galvatron in there too, though.

AnimatedPlastic 2013-12-06 @ 8:36 pm

I only like the Cubex Version because of the Alt mode, that is the most spot on Alt mode for Huffer...but the Bot mode kind of suffers. I kind of wish that Xtransbots and Cubex combined their Huffer figure into a hybrid version. With that said, the one thing that Xtransbots got right on the altmode was the trailer hitch for the MP Trailer. The CUbex one is kind of an afterthought IMHO. I decided to get both as Huffer is one of the first TF's I ever owned.

Scaleface 2013-12-06 @ 5:39 pm

No other release as me as confused as this one. I love minibots and I love MP's. X-Transbots is making Huffer and Pipes and I have a childhood connection to Pipes. Visually I am a much bigger fan of the Cubex version. X-Transbots has a cool name ( :P) and they have already hinted at Wheelie and now the box is showing much much more. I have no clue how big MP Bumblebee will be and he will dictate the official Takara scale for minibots for me.

If Takara's Bumblebee is smaller than these guys it's okay, because Bumblebee was depicted as smaller than the other Autobots, even those with the same size toys. It was part of his kid appeal status.

X-Transbots Wheelie is about Scout size. The others are about Deluxe size.

This would be so much easier if MP Bumblebee was out.

First world issues, I know. But it is an issue for me non the less.

I hope these stick around for a while for me to see what quality is like and how these guys and what they look like with the other MP's. I am going for toon accuracy here not super detailed.

Scaleface 2013-12-06 @ 6:45 am

Yes.

AnimatedPlastic 2013-12-05 @ 11:35 pm

So does this mean we will see this figure available soon?

Scaleface 2013-12-05 @ 1:09 pm

Box images. Anyone else notice they have Cosmos, Beachcomber, Cyclonus and Scourge in there?

MikePrime 2013-11-06 @ 10:36 pm

:agreesb What a worthless piece.

That's a neat detail, but I would rather the figures were $5 - $10 cheaper than getting a coin. I don't know very many if any of my friends who care about the coins. Why didn't they announce this earlier? :tfevil Would be an interesting poll on how many people collect the coins in the MP Series. I wonder if there is a MP Coin holder case to display them all......

TFSource has posted an update from XTransbots on their Facebook page, revealing that every paired set of the MasterMini Krank and Stax figures will include a pair of coins much as current Takara Masterpiece figures now do. Each coin will bear a likeness of the face of one of the robots. These coins will only be available in the bundled sets of two figures, so if adding these to your Masterpiece coin collection is important to you, keep that in mind when preordering. Does this one have the G1 Toy face and the Cartoon face? I can't remember if it was this one or the Cubex one that I saw initially with it....but neither has shown they have it...I have been wondering......:tfevil

Tripredacus 2013-10-24 @ 2:19 pm

I am torn. Overall I think this version looks to be better...but I still love the look of that Cubex Alt mode since as someone else said is more screen accurate. For sure I am getting both of these....we'll see on the Cubex one....I like how they solved the trailer pulling with this one over the Cubex one. They are both in prototype design...so I will reserve final judgement for them, but I am excited to get a MP Huffer / Pipes

I already have 1 3rd party Huffer which is what I'll stick with unless an official MP comes out.

Scaleface 2013-10-24 @ 11:05 am

X-Transbots said the final version will have transparent windows. They also mention they have access the machinery that chromes parts now, so you can see chrome on future figures where it's needed.

Transbot90210 2013-10-23 @ 2:11 pm

That could work. I would need to see him next to Classics BB and the later iGear MiniWarriors. As I said, I am still on the fence. lol The issue is they look great, the price is ok but I just don't know where to stick them because these are definitely not MP to me.

Scaleface 2013-10-23 @ 2:01 pm

I plan to use it as a Classics toy. It's just Deluxe size after all.

Transbot90210 2013-10-23 @ 1:11 pm

Someone said it best "This looks like a Classics styled figure with Masterpiece engineering."

I love a lot about this figure but with the Cubex version looking way more screen accurate AND the possibility of an official version...... I am still on the fence about the whole 3P MP Huffer thing.

Pipes is another thing all together. I had him as a kid and played with it a lot so he has a special place in my heart. Passin on him will prove to be a great challenge.

Some more images have come in of the Krank prototype:

Transbot90210 2013-10-21 @ 1:30 pm

They might get my money for Pipes. I am more interested in the Cubex version for my MP collection but I have a childhood connection to Pipes and this is the only one announces so far.

Scaleface 2013-10-20 @ 8:32 pm

Some new images of Krank, Stax and their third member Hoss. Hoss is a based on the GoBot Road Ranger.

AnimatedPlastic 2013-09-13 @ 5:18 pm

I like their take on Huffer and Pipes. I am really interested in them and I hope they are good quality figures. If not...they will go the way of Impossible Toys. My only real complaint with this figure is that they chose an old style Alt mode...I wish they would use the MBZ style Semi truck rather than this 1950's style diesel vehicle. I don't think mind the cab on the back as long as the legs are designed to counterbalance the weight so it doesn't fall over. I really like the addition of the Toy and Cartoon faces for the bot modes. Just tell me the price at this point. :tfevil

AnimatedPlastic 2013-09-12 @ 6:54 pm

The fact that both of the figures they are releasing come with the Cartoon and Toy faces is pretty sweet. I still like the other Alt mode of Huffer better, but these figures are really nice....like I say in almost all my posts about 3rd party figures.....cost will be the determining factor for myself if I buy these. I doubt Hasbro will give either of these figures this kind of love....ever.....oh and here is a link to their facebook postings where you can see what I am talking about....very nice...

Tripredacus 2013-09-12 @ 1:58 pm

Krank isn't a good name, since there is another thing named Dr Crank... and that name is awesome. :awsum

Scaleface 2013-09-12 @ 12:32 pm

New images of Stax...

AnimatedPlastic 2013-07-15 @ 6:46 pm

I wonder if they will do a 2 pack with both Huffer and Pipes. I am having trouble deciding on which Huffer I like better since they are both good. :schin

Scaleface 2013-07-14 @ 12:04 pm

Good news for GoBot fans. X-Transbots posted to Facebook that they are interested in making a Road Ranger inspired recolor too of the Krank mold. So that's three toys to pick from, and let this sink in.... A MASTERPIECE GOBOT!

Fatherdeth 2013-07-13 @ 3:23 am

Man, those look cool!!!!

AnimatedPlastic 2013-07-12 @ 8:06 pm

I like these guys a whole lot. They have that old school small diesel truck look, like the ones you find around freight yards moving trailers around.

I think that is the one thing I don't like. I would like it to be more squared like the original one. I think the Cubex one captures the alt mode better.

Transmitte 2013-07-12 @ 5:51 pm

Oooo..that looks nice. I especially like that he can pull Primes trailer.

MikePrime 2013-07-12 @ 4:07 pm

It makes IGear's version look like a cheap bootleg.

ExVee 2013-07-12 @ 10:44 am
We haven't heard much from X-Transbots in a while, but fresh on the heels of the Cubex "Masterpiece" style Huffer comes their announcement of two Masterpiece Mini-Bots, Krank and Stax, based on Huffer and Pipes. X-Transbot has posted a small gallery featuring prototypes. Read the Full News Story Here
