Australia is getting a "transforming" version of the "Transformers" movie DVD when it hits stores on November 1, 2007, according to DVD retail site
ezydvd. The two-disc collector's box of the DVD has the ability to transform into a 15-inch-tall Optimus Prime. Also featured on the website are two other pre-orders for the movie. The first is the two-disc standard definition DVD set, which features a
double-sided sleeve - one the "Protect" version, the other the "Destroy" version.
The special features attached to the standard-definition release includes deleted scenes, audio commentary by Director Michael Bay, 4 featurettes, 2 in-depth making of documentaries, interactive content, and easter eggs.
The other pre-order is the
HD-DVD version, which other than the cover that is exactly the same as the "
Transformers: The Score" cover, it does not seem to be anything different than a standard, single-disc release. "Transformers" will not see a
Blu-Ray release.
Now all of these new Australian DVD pre-orders beckons the question, "Are these U.S. bound?" Other than the November 1, 2007 release date in the land down under and the Canadian retailer
HD Addicts listing the release date as October 16th (a date agreed to by the retailer
Loaded247.com in the U.K.) we have gotten nada regarding U.S. release dates.
Of course as always, we will keep on top of this for you, so stay tuned.
Thanks to both Blitzwing and Johndoe48802 for their submissions that this story was born out of.
