Metallic Blue.... It's a sin I can't get this for $10 at Target. Grrr...

Yeah, this Thundercracker does look sweet! However, he may never join my other two classic's seekers due to his hefty price tag. Him, Dirge and Ramjet are the only ones I really want out of the set. However, I just can't justify spending 320 dollars on this set for only three tiny figures. That money could be better used else where on my collection like more G1 figures or my video game collection.

Anyone betting this year's Botcon exclusives will bomb terribly?

Sure it looks awesome...so does Dirge, I was hoping that at least since they were going to cheat us out of the seekers they would do remolded wings for Thrust and Dirge, to more fit their G-1 style.......as usual too much to expect from Hasbro!!!!!!! So unless I'm blind nothing is different about these guy's but paint ? Why would we not just paint them ourselves as opposed to spending 350.00!!!!! What does Botcon think were idiots!!!!!?????

Not too impressed and I think the blue should have been lighter.

But Thundercracker was my least favorite out of the three seekers.

Pros: The head detail is what the retail units should have been. That is to say, painted black helmet, well painted red eyes.

Cons: A little TOO G1 reminiscent, exclusivity.

Verdict: Hasbro misses the mark with the masses in an attempt to pork the fandom that will pay anything for completeness.

Actually this convention is far from bombing. They have already sold out three "official" hotels. They received over 600 registrations in the first week. No this is going to be a very large show, and yes I am going, and I am buying this set as are many many other people.

looks amazing. its the first time ive liked thundercracker more then starscream and, sadly, skywarp.

I'm not so worried about missing out on Thrust & Dirge because i've never really been a fan of the coneheads but not being able to lay my hands on Thundercracker has pissed me off no end...

My kitbashing/painting skills are non-existent but i may have to pick up an extra Starscream and give it a go just to get myself a Classics Thundercracker to complete the threesome...

That or pay over the odds on ebay after Botcon...

Yeah, sadly bruticus, ebay will be the only route for Thundercracker. I can see this guy alone going more for 320 dollars, as everyone will want him to join his two brothers and the bids will be crazy. I know I would like to get one off ebay if the opportunity presents itself; however, i'm not stupid and won't pay over 100 dollars for this guy. Shoot, 50 bucks is reaching it.

Realistically i know i won't pick him up for under £50 maybe more and there's just no way i can justify to myself spending over that on a figure, that if he had seen a normal release, would have cost me about £16 at a push...

Repainting a Classics Starscream looks like it's getting closer and closer to being the only way to get a Classics Thundercracker...

Damn shame though, because as far as i'm concerned Hasbro/Botcon/Whoever REALLY dropped the ball on this decision...

Then, it would seem that you have more money than sense, if you are buying this.

I didnt say the convention will bomb. I wrote that the toys will not sell as well.

I wish they would keep the convention seperate from the toyline. They need these exclusive toys to entice/bribe people to go to the convention. That's pretty pathetic if you think about it. It implies that nobody gives a rat's ass about the convention & they have to find some way to trick people into attending. I just collect the toys & enjoy the shows & movies. I really don't care in the slightest about the "fandom". Back in 84 I bought the toys & enjoyed the TV show before there ever was a "fan club" or a "Botcon" or "Fun Publications" or a "Brian Savage" & I got along just fine without any of them!

You know what Grimlock, THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT I'M DOING!!!

I picked up some paint this past weekend along with primer, and bought a second Ramjet, took him apart, and have primed him. Tomorrow, I start customizing him into Dirge. I'll get another Ramjet after the pics of Thrust are out, and now I gotta find another Starscream or Skywarp to turn into Thundercracker.

I didnt say that the convention would bomb. Like I said, I stated that the figs would not sell well. Not everyone is going to get the boxed set.

I doubt they will sell well post botcon, such as on ebay.

Methinks they will devalue a lot. More than say, some of the wreckers toys have already.

Do I have to repeat that a third time for you kids at the back of the slow bus now?

This one looks good. But then again, they didn't really need to remold anything. They had BETTER give Thrust his proper wings and VTOL engines. I'm still hoping they'll resculpt Dirge.
