By BaCon on Friday, September 29, 2006

Voicing the Beast Wars 9am Regency Ballroom

Speakers Blu Mankuma – 1st Botcon Appreance.
Scott McNeil
Richard Newman
Pauline Newstone

Mankuma spoke of playing contrasting characters in “War Planets” and “Beast Wars”. It was enjoyable. Playing such a beautifull character as Tigatron.

Newman mentioned that the powes that be decided his voice was to reconizablle to do Tankorr. He thought they klled off Rhinox horoably.

Q. Do you share any personality traits with characters? Scott- Rattrap. Newstone- It was a pleasure to voice Airrazor.

McNeil – Beast Wars is the best show Ive worked on. Beast Machines just wasn’t written the same way as Beast wars.

Newman - "I'm more drawn to the shows weve worked on" We don’t really get to see the finished product when were working. Just animated mouths.

Mankuma (About Mcneil) “IMO that one of the greatest voices in animation."

McNeil - I read for every character on the show "He said he auditions for everything."

All: We haven’t been contacted about voicing for the movie.

As of just after 5pm Central Time today, a message posted on the Botcon Official Facebook page has confirmed that all attempts at resuscitating the pre-registration system have failed. While a very, very few individuals reportedly managed to complete registration, for most people a series of escalating failures prevented completion of the process, and they will have to wait and try again tomorrow when Fun Publications hopes that all the external factors at work have been dealt with adequately. Keep reading to see a copy of the message.
Today, Tuesday, May 26, just barely three weeks from the opening events of Botcon 2015, preregistration has finally gone online! ...only to be shut back down minutes later. It appears that issues relating to the strain on the server has forced the system to be disabled until their hosting provider can take steps to improve performance. We've included a screengrab of the message currently being displayed. And in the meantime we're just hoping that reactivation at least waits until after most people's workdays are over with!
Hot on the heels of the latest delay in launching preregistration with just over three weeks left until the convention starts, the Fun Pub Video Youtube channel has posted a pair of new videos giving a walkthrough demonstration of the new registration system for both regular attendees and exhibitors. At last report, the earliest registration is expected to possibly go live is now Tuesday, May 26th, following additional complications with bringing the new system online. We have the videos embedded below, so click through to have a look.
The official BotCon Twitter has posted stating that the registration system is not ready and will not be ready until after the US Memorial Day holiday weekend. This would put registration as likely beginning on Tuesday, May 26th - roughly three weeks before the actual start of the convention. Keep reading for the Tweets.
With about 25 days remaining before the first planned activities of this year's Botcon, it looks like registration will finally go live sometime on Friday, May 22. The Botcon Twitter account posted a notice to this effect, and an update to botcon.com goes in to slightly more detail, anticipating pre-reg so long as no technical issues present themselves in the meantime. Along with this, images of this year's t-shirt and hat were also posted. Click through and check out the images and a quote from the update.
