BotCon 2007: David Kaye Panel Report

By News_Staff on Friday, June 29, 2007 @ 12:44:40 PM

David Kaye, the voice of Beast Wars Megatron and many other non-transformers voices is attending this year's BotCon with his very own panel. Read news about the Transformers Animated series, Kaye's playing Optimus Prime and more in the report below:

+ Discussed Transformers Animated: he will be playing the voice of Optimus Prime.

+ Kaye said playing Prime is somewhat difficult because with a villian you can go off on many tangents. Where as playing a good guy, he has to stay on track with a very focused charater.

+ According to Kaye, Gary Chalk didn't even try out for the part stating he's not looking to do much with Transformers in the future.

+ Transformers Animated cartoon has just finished recording the second season voice overs.

+ He is working on other series like Inu Yasha and some on Battlestar Gallactica.

+ Talked about his experience work on the Beast Wars series and working with the other voice actors.

+ Mentioned he has been trying to work with Seth Green and has recently audtioned for the recent Star Wars Robot Chicken but said he didn't get the part becuase he thought he may have been too good.

You'd be surprised. His natural voice isn't similar to his Megatron voiceovers.
