Comedian Bryan Cox Auditions for TF Movie Voices

By News_Staff on Friday, November 03, 2006 @ 11:02:04 AM

Toronto, Canada (OPENPRESS) November 3, 2006 -- Bryan Cox began his exciting career in the entertainment industry twenty years ago starting in radio and television, applying his talents to all aspects of both respective broadcast mediums. Funny man Bryan Cox is also known for his ability to transform his voice, whether on stage or behind the microphone.

Bryan Cox, a successful comedian who has opened for the likes of Tom Jones and is heard online each week on the feature “Road Stories of the Real Highway Comics” by an audience of 3 million people, prefers working with clients from his home recording studio, one on one. “I believe in every product that I talk about. When the voice believes...the public believes. So when Cox Talks...People Believe”, he revealed.

Hot off the heels of the announcement and subsequent auditions for next years highly anticipated blockbuster hit movie “The Transformers”, Bryan has been keeping his voice very busy, auditioning for both Steven Spielberg and director Michael Bay.

Considered for three roles in the film and performing two voices per character, Bryan was able to draw upon his background as a stand-up comedian on the comedy circuit. Character voices come naturally to Bryan and creating voices for “The Transformers” characters was a highlight for him.

Voices.com Marketing Director, Stephanie Ciccarelli, says, “Bryan Cox is a genuine professional and is fervently dedicated to his clients. He focuses on providing listeners with an experience as well as a solid performance.”

With connections made in Hollywood, Bryan’s future is full of opportunities for voice acting in animated and CGI films. Until then, he’ll keep the laughs coming online and in the recording studio.

Never heard of him, though he may indeed be good as a voice actor. But, I have to admit that it is getting rather annoying seeing how many comedians are being considered for the movie.

Yeah that is a bit strange... maybe they'll use the "These Pretzels are making me thirsty!" line after all and call this movie a family comedy. That might make what they're doing forgivable.

When is Wanda Sikes gonna audition for Arcee?

I don't have a problem with comedians going for voice over roles. They usually have a wider range of voices than 'serious' actors.

Plus it should give the robots a more human feel.

Rather than having actors use their regular voice, I can actually let go and not picture that actor and focus on the character itself as it's own entity.

I keep thinking of Over The Hedge. Great movie, but RJ voiced by Bruce Willis kept bringing Bruce Willis to mind. While Hammy's Character was so unlike Steve Carell, that I was able to fully seperate the two, and enjoy the character of Hammy for what he was.

I'm comparing apples to oranges here, but those are my two cents.

Think back to G1, we had Scatman Crothers and Kasey Kasem (pardon any spelling errors), wansn't Kasem the voice of Shaggy on Scoobydoo? Hey why not make him the voice of Megatron while Margret Cho voices Starscream. lol

Don't worry about someone being a comedian...that's just a way to make a living. That's like saying someone at 7-11 can't sweep the streets. I was a voice artist along time before becoming a comedian.Let me tell you this, it was one of the biggest thrills in my life to even to be considered for any part in this movie. Come on...even if I don't get any of the parts...just to know that your voice was on Spielbergs shelf. What a Fu*>king thrill !!
Cheers to you all and have a Great Holiday
Bryan Cox
