If the CG development costs so much... I wonder if future movies will re-use only the same characters, or introduce new ones as well.
I'd be hoping to see more of the 'sports car autobots', since those were always my favorite.

I hope so too. I love the sports car bots, but we need more of them. Oh and I am still overjoyed with the fact that Cullen will once again be Optimus, especially if the movie is made into a trilogy

hoping to see a live action gestalt - devastator would be very nice.
and maybe on the autobot side let's say... metroplex?

I'm sure we'll be seeing a whole bunch of giant robot movies in the next years, and most of their bots will probably be even bigger than the actual movie TFs (take Evangelion, for instance).
So the TFs will have to catch up with some real skyscraper smashing giants. Some guys like Metroplex would be very interesting.

Nice to see you got a new photo for Cullen.
Too bad he still looks like a Live Action Mario the Plumber.

Forget Earth and save money. The next one should all be done with green screens and set on Cybertron. With major Robot battles, all CGI! It would be a hit with all the fan geeks like me. A real, back to basics old school Simon Furman story line too. That's the ticket.

the first movie is going to be bad enough, why bother to make any if Bay is going to direct them. he's screwed up the first one already.

then it's ok for you supporters of this movie, to make comments like "this movie is gonna rock!" or even " this movie is not G1" here's more - "it's going to be a blockbuster hit" / " this movie is going to be awesome" & other comments like that & yet like you said, no one has seen this film yet. so tell me why is it ok for you supporters of this movie can say stuff like that, but then demonize those who don't like the way this movie is turning out. please explain.

I agree with BF. And to further add, when we say Mike already screwed this up, its mostly in terms of the visual aspect. Meaning the f-cked up looking Transformers that dont transform into anything but more so "morph" with all that clutter rust metal. Movie Megatron is nothing but a mess! You cant tell whats what on him.

Um.... I never said that it's gonna rock, or that it's gonna be awesome, or that it's going to be a blockbuster hit.
All I've ever said is that I don't mind the new designs. Because I've seen the new designs and have something to base my judgement on.
I haven't commented on the quality of the movie itself, because I haven't seen it.
Most people who 'hate the movie' do so simply because they don't like the new designs.

i should have said that supporters of this movie do make comments like that. but it's still those who support this movie demonize those who don't & you can't deny that. i remember seeing one post here awhile ago where a poster threatened to hurt someone when he saw this movie at the theater & that person was making comments that this poster didn't like. yes, i understand that those who threaten others with harmful intent don't repesent supporters like you, but it does happen. we can disagree the way this movie is turning out, but some supporters do in fact personally attack others who don't like this movie so far. as a loyal Transfan, i will go see this movie when i go visit my cousin & his girlfriend out in San Diego in July. yes, there are those who make comments to those who do support this movie as well. every loyal Transfan should go see this movie, no matter how much we all disagree on this movie. at least you can agree with that.

Yes, some of the 'pro-movie' people go too far.
But to be fair, so do some of the 'anti-movie' people.
I remember when, before people who were interested in the movie started speaking up more, the anti-movie people would call anyone who didn't hate the movie a 'Bay ass-kisser'.

true, some anti-movie people do make comments about the pro-movie camp. well, as for the 'Bay a$$-kissers" comment made by the anti-movie camp, & in imo, it is somewhat justified, which you may disagree with it, only because some (not all) from the pro-movie camp say stuff like - "i love all the designs & they're perfect" / "go to h*** G1 fans, because G1 sucks!" / "this movie is gonna rock" & other comments like that & some do go a bit too far because it seems to those that Bay did respect the mythology of Transformers, but imo & others from the anti-movie camp feel that he didn't. no one has seen this film yet, but based on the designs that we all saw since the first pic came out, imo, that Bay has divided the fan base even more. we( those who don't like what we've seen so far) can have their opinions without being attack by those who support it & the same goes to those who do support this movie, shouldn't be attack for their opinions either. if i say "this is a travesty of a film", then that's my right to say it & if you say " i support this movie 100%" then that's your right as well. without attacking each other personally, which some (pro-movie camp) do.
