A new eBay auction reveals a new packaging for "Transformers" Ultimate Bumblebee figure. The figure in this package will be bundled with a 3" Titanium Bumblebee, according to the auction. It is unknown if this set will be a store exclusive once it arrives, but from previous trends, it most likely will be.

Nah, rather wait for the clearance. Then maybe it'll be just slightly overpriced instead of outrageously overpriced. :-D

I bet these lame ultimate bumblebee toys are the reason why they hold back the 08 camaro deluxe bumblebees.
They are afraid that no one will buy those expensive and ugly ultimates when the cheap
deluxe model is so much better.

I agree with all 3 prev posters. This thing is JUNK. Masterpiece price, but nowhere near the masterpiece quality. I'm saving my money for masterpiece Starscream.

Since no one has written a review for one of these yet and I'm not set up to do a review, let me just say this-
I've seen and played with one out of the box. I discovered to my horror that THE ARMS DO NOT MOVE. They have one position, you can't pose them at all and only the motorized feature will move the arms (pretty much only while bumblebee talks- you know like in the movie when he talked all the time).
The thing is much bulkier than many of the photos have shown (he looks considerably less bulky if you just see him from straight on). In other words this is one of those toys you run across every so often that looks better in the box than out.
The missle launcher on the one I saw didn't seem to work.
It's amazing how the toy can simultaneously be more detailed than the deluxe version, yet somehow get all the big broadstroke details wrong when the deluxe got most of those completely right.
Also, that odd way his chest sits with that huge band of grey between his neck and his chest, and those small cracks in the hood that look like they ought to be somewhere else-
That's the only way it transformers. Not only is it not mistransformed in the pictures we've seen, it's not even possible to mistransform it to make it closer to how it should be.
The toy has some nice points as well (car mode being one of the biggest), but I was set to get this until I finally saw one out of the box first hand. In fact a friend was going to give me one as a gift (so it wouldn't have cost me a thing), but after seeing one- it's nothing I care to make any shelf space for.
I give this thing about a 3.5 out of 10 as a raw score. When you factor in the price and that it should have been MP quality (hell, it should have been the best transformer ever), it scores a 2 out of 10.
It's garbage, and worse it's very expensive garbage.
Unless you're looking for a talking robosapien that hap

Not that I like the Ultimate Bumblebee, as many have pointed out and I agree with, at this price point, it should have been as articulated and detailed as a Masterpiece. But from a business perspective, it probably cost Hasbro $20 to make and they're pass it off at $80-90 retail. cha-ching!! I agree this is a piece of junk...but in my local area, the only thing sitting on the shelf are those Transformers unleashed, the rehash Optimus gun and some pockets of Real Gear. So somebody is buying these things.

...and that someone would be the scalpers. I swear, at one point on eBay I saw 17... SEVENTEEN... of these figures on auction simultaneously from the same seller.

Thanks for the review bob. If they ever get down to 20$ i'll pick one up. Hasbro is clueless, real transformer fans don't want this talking moving garbage.

I dont want to jump on no bash wagon, but this time around.. I got to play with one out of the box at hobbie/toy shop and was very dissapointed at the price vs the quality. Some retailers including the one i was in, was selling for little over 100.00 dollars!!!
The shady clerk kept trying to convince me it was worth every penny. I looked at him and nodded my head "uh no".
I spent less money on the first release of MP-Prime. He was made partially out of metal, has real rubber tires, extreme detail all around him, very accurate to the cartoon in both vehicle and robot form and was just a huge chunk of high quality craftsmanship.
Ultimately Expensive Bumblebee is made of waxy plastic (not even an opaque or semi metallic yellow like the movie) but actually waxy looking plastic, plasti-rubber tires, innacturate robot design, limited articulation (literally), and sound effects that had abosultely NOTHING to do with the film. Why is "whip it" in there?!? It should have been either "Baby Come Back" or atleast a clip of "Who's Gonna Drive You Home" by the Cars just like in those memorably funny parts in the movie. His voice is nowhere accurate to the movie when he finally said something. He's paint scheme is limited to 3 colors. Yellow (in come parts) grey/silver, and black. LAME. He's a brick and people who bought him are the only one's who actually like this toy.
I came so close to buying him online because i didnt know what to expect aside from the pics i saw. But after actually touching it... there was really nothing ultimate about it. And to be honest with you, its not that its a terrible toy or anything. Its just not worthy of the title "Ultimate".
And MOST DEFINITELY not worth even 80 dollars. Those who said it is, clearly doesnt know the value of money.
MP-Prime for 80.00 = YES.
Ultimate BB for 90.00 = HELL NO.
This brick needs to go on wholesale like fast. 60.00 AT MOST. No more than that.
