Well it looks like those strange prototypes we saw on the Japan Patent DB are indeed for the movie. Thanks to Tfans member Hobbes-timus Prime for the heads up about an auction by eBay seller SPX that has new pics of the fully painted figure with the set to 7:47, Hmmmm.
