'TF: Animated' A 2008 Series; Previously Called 'Heroes'?

By News_Staff on Sunday, April 15, 2007

Thanks to Colin Warhurst Website of Siab Studios of a cover of a UK based entertainment news magazine Broadcast April 2007 edition, featuring the new 2008 Transformers animated that will be 26 half hour episodes plus a 90 minute special.

Is this the new Transformers cartoon that we've been referring to as "Transformers: Heroes" being produced by Cartoon Network?

According to the source website, only the logo is available with no information inside the magazine on it. However, there is a comment that the logo is a lot like the Toonami look that is usual in Cartoon Network-produced shows.

If this is indeed the upcoming cartoon we have been calling "Heroes," it is most likely a way to reduce confusion between itself and the "Transformers" movie that will have already been released when the show hits television screens worldwide. The loose 2008 date also contradicts the Fall 2007 release date that was previously attached to the "Hereoes" project by both IESB and Tara Strong. However, due to "Broadcast" being a UK magazine, the date may only be reflecting the UK broadcast date, not the U.S.

Whether or not the show is a continuation of the movie or "a new series based on our old shows," as commented by Frank Welker several months back is unknown.

The front page image shows that the series will consist of twenty six (26) thirty (30) minute episodes with a nintey (90) minute special.

News attached to the "Heroes" project are Tom Kenny playing Starscream, and Tara Strong as Suri.

Rumors attached to the project include David Kaye playing Optimus Prime and Corey Burton playing Megatron.
