Amazon has posted extensive images of Gigantic Action MegaZarak and Black Zarak on their preorder pages for each item. No preorder info is available yet, but previously we'd heard 48,600 Yen and October for Scorponok, and Black Zarak is rumored to be set for November. Keep reading for a gallery of mirrored images, including height comparisons with G1 Fortress Maximus!
More Wonderfest news! We just saw the renders of Original Playstation Optimus Prime the other day, and now there's a test shot on display at WonFes. Keep reading to check it out!
Comic-Con International may be winding down, but Japan's Wonder Festival is just getting going, and of course that means Transformers! Sentinel's Gigantic Action Scorponok is shown along with a Black Zarak version, complete with G1 Fortress Maximus for scale. They scale up pretty well! And then we've got a photo of a super-deformed Optimus Prime from Kotobukiya that comes with an ion blaster, energy axe, some alternate hands and a cutified version of Prime's truck mode. Click through to see the photos!
Speculation had been that the natural foil to Mega Drive Megatron would be Super FamiConvoy, but sadly it is not to be. TakaraTomy has elected to identify the G1 Autobot leader as Optimus Prime, and that share some initials with Original Playstation. The first render indeed shows Optimus Prime with a PS1 body. In a way it makes sense, as the structure of the PS1 (rectangle with a circle in the middle) is pretty similar to the Mega Drive. Keep reading for the first photo!
TakaraTomy is now offering a series of limited, signed-and-numbered wall prints of classic G1 boxart as the Transformers Master Art Collection. Each piece, priced between 35-45,000 Yen (approximately $350-450) will be signed by original painter Shin Ueda, and includes Optimus Prime's Japanese boxart (which is similar to but not precisely matching the US version) as well as a number of back-of-package group paintings.
