The metal flake blood red makes this figure really pop. I'm actually having to chip in and buy one to go with the show characters. Amazing what a nice paint job can do for a figure. I wish our market were such that Hasbro could put more money into these sort of details.

That "tipster" would be me!
Anyway, the overall paint jobs of the Takara Beast Wars figs are great, HOWEVER the 2-3,000 yen price-tag isn't, even with a DVD thrown in.
For most USA/Non-Japan based collectors, these figs are not as goo, say, as the USA versions, which at least gave away a real exclusive: That of Transmutate. The non-show characters (Cohadra and the Archeoptrex) are not that significantly different from their original releases.
The original Japanese Beast wars figs had a slightly better paint apps than their USA counterparts anyway.
The paint detail on the faces of Rhinox and Waspinator are great though, plus this "new" character above is worth it.
Here's hoping they make some new repainted figs, eh?
I'm waiting until all of these figs are about 500-1,000 yen in Toys R Us.
