Thanks to tipster "Manndragon7" who sent us images of what is claimed to be "Transformers" 2 designs for Soundwave and Shockwave: "Concept art closeups of Soundwave and Shockwave. These aren't final though; they're just two out of many, but I got the okay to show this as a little
sneak peak to Transformers 2. You know, to ensure the fans that these characters WILL be recognizeable." Nice one, but it appears these are just fan art that you can see in the image gallery.

Hate to break it to you guys...but these are NOT official concepts. They're fan art from one of the guys on Don Murphy's message boards. But having said that, they do look good.

Not surprised. Although they do almost match the new aesthetic, they are instantly recognizeable- and no one except Prime and Jazz from this first go around have been recognizeable.
Also, Bay has other projects lined up (according to IMDB). So they'll probably need to bring on a new director, and he'd be the one going through and okaying designs.
Still, these are VERY NICE!

I also wondered about the big tag at the bottom saying "MOVIE CONCEPT". I'd have to go back and look at the old leaks, but I don't believe they said anything that on the nose about what they were.

Man I wish these were real, they're really cool head designs. Also I don't think it's two different Soundwave heads, structurallyt hey are identical save for the eyes so I see it as a regular and abilty mode (depending on what the visor would be for). Which would be perfectly acceptable to me.

Nice fan art. Obviously isn´t a design from any real project. The faces are too alike to the original toys. Anyways, Bay menaced with a long series of movies so... Who knows?

The fan artist needs to be hired for the next movie's concept art - wonderful adaptation! Somewhere between G1 and Movie is the sweet spot for Transformer design.

I don't like the Soundwave much, even if it is 'old-school-ish'. I'd rather see something a bit bolder.
But I do like the Shockwave concept a lot. Too bad it's not 'authentic'.

nice. shame the movie moguls will reject both, and favour red colour schemes with bits with 5 boggle eyes on top of a toilet row tube with 35 sets of arms which both transform into whatever it is GM are desperate to shift by the time of the second movie.
