I agree this will be great for those who missed out on the Rhino releases. I just feel the changes however aren't enough for me to want to purchase them. I grew up in the 1980's (born in78) and the SFX never bothered me.

That was a mistake from the original. If you watch enough of the old series, you will notice several others. As for Rhino vs Shout, this is great for people that missed out on the Rhino releases. Those were released at least 5 years ago if memory serves. Plus it can be a pain to acquire the f... read more

Why is it in preview clip 4 you hear Sparkplugs voice over Ratchets animation. I don't remember that in the orginal Rhino set. I have that original Rhino complete set, I doubt this new collection is going to be worth the double dip. Only a completest will feel they got their moneys worth on thi... read more

Basically laser effects and other scifi-like sounds. Believe me, when you hear it, you will know what we are talking about. I believe one of the clips (from MTMTE Part 3) has a good example. The battle between Optimus and Megatron is fraught with them. edit: check clip 3 for a few examples.

wat do you mean by "Rhino sounds" exactly?

Man, if those stupid effects are still present, I'm not going to be happy. I hated that aspect of the Rhino DVDs. Those clips are nice, but I wish they would highlight what they supposedly changed. edit: Looks like they used the original masters (with Rhino sounds) for these clips. WTF? Wh... read more

doesn't look much different from the rhino versions.. doesn't seem like I'll be picking this thing up. Not much G1 can offer me these days anyway. Its fun to watch and laugh at, but thats about it.

Note the presence of Rhino sound effects...

I wanna know more about the animation errors that they fixed. Like in MTMTE is it still a loop that makes it look like Prime is ordering the Decepticons to attack when they raid The Ark? Does Ironhide still transform and back away from battle? Will we still have multiple Starscreams in so many sh... read more

Imaginarium recently shared a shot of the upper body of their upcoming Devastator statue, showing off the general styling and detail level. Tonight they've continued downward, revealing the lower half of the body with a look at the legs and a considerable chunk of the base environment the statue stands on. Sadly these are not separate cuts of the same image in order to piece them back together - or I would have - but you can still get a good sense of the overall product between them. Click through for the mirrored image!
Three A, makers of high end - and high price - action figures including a range of licensed Transformers figures has revealed a new entry tonight, exclusive to ThinkGeek. Ultra Magnus is a redeco of the Optimus Prime figure, naturally in the unarmored cab-robot form. Its features are more or less the same as the Optimus figure it's derived from, including basic accessory loadout. ThinkGeek's price is just about $400 and they're accepting orders for the new Ultra Magnus right now. Click through to see the promo photos and a link to the product page.
Pop Culture Shock Collectibles is pleased to announce we have now secured a licensing agreement with Hasbro Inc. We are excited about the opportunity to team with Hasbro in creating collectibles based on characters from properties like TRANSFORMERS, DUNGEONS & DRAGONS, MAGIC: THE GATHERING, G.I. Kidrobot has teamed up with toy giant Hasbro for a an all-new collection of Transformers vs. G.I. Joe toys, art figures and collectibles based off the John Barber & Tom Scioli critically acclaimed comic book that has gained an international cult-following! There can be only one to rule them all and in the case of the Decepticons it’s Megatron. The God-Emperor of the evil doers of the Transformers is ready to take his rightful place on your shelf. In conjunction with Hasbro, Kidrobot brings you the next piece to the Transformers Vs GI Joe capsule with the Megatron Art Figure.
There has long been speculation about if, when and how Hasbro and Mattel would join forces to make the ultimate toy and game company. According to The Wall Street Journal, Hasbro is said to be on the prowl (pun) again, after substantiated news just last year, about the two companies being in talks. At this point there is nothing substantial to report. Yet, this time feels better with Hasbro's recent move to a media company. When more content is what they need. Barbie, Hot Wheels and so many brands under the Mattel brand are great choices.
