New Alternity Figure Announcement On the Brinks?

By 2 hours long on Thursday, October 01, 2009

New Transformers Alernity Figure Coming?Tomy Takara has updated their official Transformers Alternity micro-site with a teaser for a possible upcoming figure after A-03 Suzuki Swift Sport Bumbleebee and Cliffjumper are released. There is a blacked out vehicle with the words, "Coming Soon" displayed beneath the figure. The vehicle seems to look like a Lamborghini with a spoiler. If the Alternity (and similary, BinalTech) trend of basing their figures off currently produced vehicles, that narrows it down to the Murcielago and Gallardo.

I could see them putting out Hot Rod ...it looks like a hot rod with a gun on top to me (possibly). Although im thinking character i have NO idea what car model it would be.

Yeah, I see it as well. Just a filler picture, but there must be a good reason for Takara to choose that toy for the image.

it definitely doesn't look too far back to be a light bar.

That actually makes the most sense. Considering they use actual licensed brands for this line, and it seems very unlikely that they would be able to get a Lamorghini license. Plus they don't already have a pic up there for the Suzuki mold. So it makes sense for that to be what it actually is.

This would actually be a great thing. I would love to see Wheeljack out of that. Would they put out another set of red and yellow figures so quickly?

This looks exactly like Henkei/Universe Sunstreaker to me, it even has the engine (it's too far back to be a lightbar). So either they're re-doing that car as an Alternity, or it's a generic placeholder silhouette. Given that the micro-site link page shows the A-01 GT R, and the A-02 Fai... read more

It does kinda look like a Lamborghini silhouette. But I kinda doubt it because Lamborghini is owned by Volkswagen, so is Porsche. Unless Lamborghini has been recently sold off, or Volkswagen has changed their minds about licensing for TFs. IF they have, that might be good news! But I kinda doubt... read more

So maybe Sideswipe, Sunstreaker and Red Alert, as with the Henkei versions? If they make an Alternity Red Alert Lamborghini, it's bought!
