First Look At Takara Device Label Tigatron, Ravage USB Desktop App

By 天狗 on Saturday, October 24, 2009

We've already posted some images of the Tomy Takara Transformers Device Label Tigatron and Ravage 2GB USB flash drives, but we haven't seen much on the actual software that comes with. However, we have some screen caps to show you today.

Each flash drive comes carrying the "Transformers Desktop Defender" software by Toshiba, which is pretty much a digital desktop toy of Ravage or Tigatron (the software can be set to use either) that prowls around your Windows desktop.

The app runs from your task bar once you set it up, and you can change the options to have it auto-start when you insert the Device Label drive in your PC.

Other options (pictures attached) are to have the character "roar" (no sound), "eat icon" (pictured), "jump," or "transform." You can adjust how frisky or fast the character is as it jumps around the desktop, and each has its own abbreviated bio & tech-specs. The character animations are crisp and entertaining, and a nice added value to these drives.

I picked up the Device Label Tigatron, and as others have stated, it is a really nice item. ¥3192 at Joshin Kids here in Japan (about $35.00). Pricey perhaps for a two gig flash drive but the desktop toy is a nice and unexpected addition.

Just an fyi, this is compatible with Windows 7 as well. I wonder if DL Soundblaster will have something similar. But never mind that. Can we see the rest of that wallpaper?

Device Label really is THE best evolution of the Casette forces. For years I was hoping for something like this, and I'm glad it's begining to take shape. These really are the beginings of the next true evolution in Transformers. SL Soundwave needs to be axed though along with the Rumble/Fr... read more

Please don't make a redeco of this Blaster into a Blue Soundwave. I hope they make a Steeljaw w/ a crest instead of a redeco of Tigatron

My pleasure. I didn't even know these drives came with any software until I looked at the side of the box, so it was a nice treat when I dropped it in the good old USB port and the install kicked in. Just a note on one of the screencaps: you can change the character names when you're play... read more

Thank you very much for joining us and letting us know of this cool software! Also, wasn't Tigatron created for Beast Wars? Maybe that's why?
