Transformers Last Stand of the Wreckers #1 Comic Preview

By Primus on Monday, October 26, 2009

Just in is a mini-preview showing some interior pages from the new IDW Publishing comic Transformers Last Stand of the Wreckers #1. Many long time fans will remember the Wreckers from the Simon Furman in the story arc in Target:2006.

The Wreckers, a sub-team of Autobots in the fictional Transformers Universe, function essentially as a commando unit. Now they are back in an all new story this January 2010! You can read more about The Wrekers at TF Wiki.
TRANSFORMERS: LAST STAND OF THE WRECKERS #1
    Nick Roche (w) • Nick Roche (a) • Roche, Trevor Hutchison (c)
The AUTOBOT special ops crew, THE WRECKERS, are sent to investigate Garrus-9, a prison that fell to the DECEPTICONS three years ago with no communication in or out since. Who’s really behind the prison siege, and what dark secret awaits SPRINGER there? Writer/artist Nick Roche (Maximum Dinobots) does all the dirty work. 2 regular covers will be shipped in a 1-to-1-to-1 ratio.
    FC • 32 pages • $3.99

Of all the new TF comics coming out in the next 2-3 months, this is the series I am most looking forward too.

Whew! I thought they were gonna be drastically altering Whirl's sweet-ass Stormbringer/Spotlight Drift design. And is that the Duocon Flywheels I see? Very interesting.

Close. It's Rotorstorm. He was the original character that used the mold that later became Machine Wars Sandstorm, then onto Universe Whirl. It seems the Autobots they're casting for this, with an exception of Springer and Kup, are late G1 EU exclusive characters.

Wowwee! I am not the biggest fan of the facial expressions, but overall this is a must have in my book. I always loved the Wreckers, and I saw my favorite sparkabot, Guzzle! On the cover, did I see Universe Whirl?

I must admit I don't know much about the Wreckers because I am only vaguely familiar with the US Comics. But the story is very interesting. What make this episodes I have. Maybe being a non-US character makes it more appealing to me. Not to mention its very nature.
