Hasbro Answers Your Burning Questions Episode VII!
bwbm - Wednesday, December 23, 2009

Hot off the Internet tubes, we have received the answers to our questions submitted to Hasbro for Episode VII! As late as SDCC 2009, Hasbro has stated that they are going to get all of the unreleased Transformers Animated figures on the shelves no matter what, but don't know the exactly when. Now that it's a little farther off and we've been given a ballpark dates for Arcee and Cybertron Ratchet (Spring 2010), do you have any other ballpark dates for the other figures and exclusivity deals that you can divulge?

Hasbro: At this point in time, we will continue to say that we will do our best to get all of the unreleased figures out there, but it is still a bit too early to start talking past Spring 2010. Once we have solidified our plans, we will certainly let you all know where and when these will be sold.

The new Hasbro and Discovery Network joint venture is shaping up quite well with the recent appointments. During the announcement of the network, Brian Goldner said that there will "most likely" be a new series based off of Transformers in 2010. Is there any new information regarding this new series such as the the direction, style, or release date?

Hasbro is looking forward to delivering entertaining new content to kids and fans through our joint venture with Discovery Communications. We’re excited to share news with you when we have more specifics to share but it is still very early in the process to discuss what direction the entertainment will take. New programming will be based on a number of brands, one being TRANSFORMERS. The yet-to-be-named network is expected to premiere in Fall 2010. Stay tuned for future announcements.

Is there a chance that the Tomy Takara reissues such as Metroplex, Seacons, or the cassettes will make be released in the US by Hasbro?

As with all of our classic re-releases, we want to make sure that we find the right opportunity to re-release them. While each of these items probably deserves to be re-released at some point in time, we do not have any plans to release Metroplex, the Seacons or the cassettes alone at this point in time.

I'm guessing he was probably looking at this: (link) It's a fan creation, but it does kinda look like Pyro, but the guy says he based it off the Classics Minicon Firebot. Emerje

Yikes! Those are awful.

Not true. Gen. Optimus was a repaint of the Dirtbag figure. (link) Also Laser Cycle Soundwave: (link) and Laser Cycle Jazz (link) Anywho, was there any pictures of the Go Bots Tractor rig? I've heard of it, but never actually seen it.

After doing some research, it looks as if "General Optimus" was similar to the "Pyro" European mold. Is this true? and are there any links to any photos of this un released toy? (i assume its unreleased) also Lazer Jazz/Soudnwave?

I fell off of Transformers when i turned 13 to 20 (around) whihc i believe was in 1996 (Machine Wars) so i missed the whole "G2" era. I know about the miscolored G1 copys and Lazer Prime plus att (at the time) when the Air Missle Prime and Megatron were out, i bougt those as my 1st transf... read more

I really don't understand their refusal to release more Encore reissues outside of Japan. It's almost as if they don't want to make more money. U.S. and Canadian (among other places I'm sure!) fans are RABID for G1, why don't they see this?
2:10 am

Trust me, I'm as sick of the non-answers as everyone else. At least at Botcon we finally get some concrete info and get to see stuff to kind of make up for the rest of the year and vague 'maybe's and we'll see'. I think the reason we are stuck with all of these meh answers stem... read more

i has a burning questions. If they ask us for questions again...will we really REALLY not bother to ask?

Although we kiiiinda knew this, they DID "confirm" the fact we WILL be getting a TRANSFORMERS show. Right? Thats better then nothing imo. And i still like these answers Hasbro has the kindness to give us (i wonder if they will wait til christmas day to give us something really juicy. Hm... read more

Once again, Twitter user @miiakira2017 has posted an image of their Transformers-related design work. Today, it's a classic car- the specific make, if any, eludes RAC - that would have turned into a laser pistol-wielding cowboy. Though there's a slight resemblance to 2010's Hunt for the Decepticons Scout-class Hubcap, the replies peg this as a Diaclone-era design, so well before that figure was designed and likely a coincidence. Keep reading to see!
