Transformers Prime CG Animated, Kurtzman & Orci To Serve As Exec Producers

Transformers: Prime will be computer graphics animated and Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci will be involved in the project, reports the Hollywood Reporter.

According to the entertainment website, the screenwriters responsible for the Transformers and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen will be executive producers on the Transformers: Prime, the show debuting on Hasbro Inc. and Discovery Networks' The Hub in fall 2010.

The article also reports that the show will be "CG-animated." Whether the design follows the Transformers Armada, Energon, and Cybertron era or the Beast Wars, Beast Machines era (this reporter crosses his fingers for this version) was not specified.

The name of the show Prime was revealed by Jeffrey Combs on a post in his website, where he also revealed that he has been cast as Ratchet.

Guys, I think it's time we abandon our sensibilities and start hoping that Kurtzman and Orci die in a car accident or something in the near future.

is this gonna be on discovery channel or something?

Discovery Kids, which will be rebranded "The Hub".

Or perhaps, "The Snub" or "The Sub Par".

We don't know yet what there involvement will be and you absolutely can not judge anything concrete about any medias final product at this stage of production.

That being said when the first ingredient listed in a meal is "Diarrhea" it's not a good sign.

This is one hell of a turn of events!?!

Maybe they liked TFs but got tired of Bay? Either way it is a good indication that the next series won't be more kiddie fluff like Animated.

I thought Animated was far better written, thought out, and mature (in the sense of making kids read between the lines, remember plotlines, and actually having good characterization) then the movies. Animated was the most intelligent TF series since BW, so if that's kiddie fluff, give me more fluff! If Kurtzman & Orci bring their "Star Trek" game to the table and not thier ROTF one, the series will be worth watching. Otherwise, this will be the second TF series I can't finish.

I will be honest, i liked alot of the writing in Animated, but alot more of it was pure dripple and idiotic pandering.

@ bwbm, I am keeping tabs on there rolls. With a hard enough effort, TF4 could be their baby.

Lots of possibilities here...

i would say thats a good thing but its not, if they wouldn't go in the direction of the movie for this show then why would they choose two of the people that help produce the TF movies?

You guys are forgetting that Orci and Kurtzman are exec producers. They won't be the ones writing the dialogue. They might have some creative input, but it won't be their hands on the keyboard.

I am a fan of Fringe and Orci and Kurtzman as a whole. Sure they have written some awful scripts (although you can only give them 2/3s of the credit for the bad RoTF script) but they also wrote Alias, and like previously pointed out, Hercules and Xena, which had some good storytelling.

Also, Beast Wars may look bad NOW, but that show, along with Mainframe's other shows like ReBoot, were ahead of its time in the 90s. Beast Machines furthered their awesomeness with shadows, which was one of the first CG shows to feature it.

And sorry to harp on this, but...neither of the Bay TF films compare to the sheer depth of Fringe, IMHO. :D

I won't argue with you. My wife loves it. I TRY to like it and it get's going okay till they overdose someone with LSD to send them to another dimension or buildings travel between parallel universes. All I can do is :rofl and my wife kicks me out of the room.

For fans who care, those kinds of gaffs are quite hard to over look. The Fallen and the Primes in ROTF were just two of the horrendous liberties taken. I cannot imagine Hasbro asking them to change course after that baloney sold more toys than the first movie.

AGAIN, I hope I am wrong. :tfpwn
