Grimlock is Nominee #2 for Transformers Hall of Fame!
bwbm - Tuesday, May 04, 2010

It's Tuesday, so that means Hasbro has announced today that the second nominee for the Transformers Hall of Fame as Grimlock! So far the nominees announced for the Transformers Hall of Fame are trending with our votes! On May 10th, you will be able to vote for either Grimlock, Soundwave, or three unannounced Transformers to be inducted into the Hall of Fame.
    "Me GRIMLOCK king!"

GRIMLOCK fought his way through the gladiatorial pits underneath Kaon to become one of the greatest warriors on CYBERTRON. Having joined the AUTOBOTS early on during the Great War, GRIMLOCK made it clear he never trusted OPTIMUS PRIME to properly lead the AUTOBOTS. Due to his shock and awe approach to combat, GRIMLOCK is not regarded as a great military leader. However, he has fought and survived through enough battles to earn top ranking position among the AUTOBOTS. Having struck out on his own, GRIMLOCK eventually found himself leader of the DINOBOTS, a special operations strike force unit that can power through most barricades and DECEPTICON strongholds. During a battle with the DECEPTICON SCORPONOK, GRIMLOCK's vocal processors were damaged, leading to his awkward and distinct way of speaking. If GRIMLOCK has a weakness, it is his larger than Prime ego and his lack of patience.

I asked that when Hall of Fame voting first started. Never did get a clear answer. My way of thinking is that you would have to induct the individual combiner team members and then the combined form would be in automatically.

No surprise on Grimlock, I mean, really...

something for generations would seem like a good idea, if it gives us a classics wheeljack or Jazz for example then it will be worth keeping an eye on.

Are we supposed to get anything out of this ? This is reminding me of the Hall of Fame that Hasbro did for G.I. Joe a couple of years ago. It was basically 10, 25th anniversary figures with some extra accessories and fancy packaging. However, these being Transformers, toys seem like a harder thi... read more

It would appear as such but, I honestly don't mind it that way. Grimlock and the Dynobots being part of the ongoing history is better than them being built on Earth and sitting in a cave until they are needed.

Soundwave, Grimlock, who's next? Brawn, Wheeljack, the (origanal) Autobot twins.

Soo, the're still going with the retalling and the Dinobots on earth don't exsist!?!

Go Grimlock! I love this bio for him--basically takes the best ideas we've seen about the character over the years, synthesizes them, and stamps them as official cannon. (The lame cartoon origin of the Dinobots is thankfully not even referenced).

Soundwave 1st, Grimlock 2nd, i still say Jazz, Shockwave, i don't know who the fifth TF could be

I wonder how a gestalt character would fit into a nomination? Say Devastator...would they allow this or only the individual components? Probably as Devastator since the combined form is always more popular than the individuals.

Once again, Twitter user @miiakira2017 has posted an image of their Transformers-related design work. Today, it's a classic car- the specific make, if any, eludes RAC - that would have turned into a laser pistol-wielding cowboy. Though there's a slight resemblance to 2010's Hunt for the Decepticons Scout-class Hubcap, the replies peg this as a Diaclone-era design, so well before that figure was designed and likely a coincidence. Hobby Lobby has had a few waves now of different kinds of Transformers art stamped in to sheet metal. A new offering in this line has just recently hit, bringing some new choices. We found today two pieces featuring G1 Optimus, and Bumblebee, represented in the design of the 2006 Classics toy, at Hobby Lobby. They were priced at $18.99 each, which may seem a touch steep for something the size of perhaps a small calendar. But we can't deny the art on them look really sharp. Click through for images of both!
D3+Transformers Racing Unveils New Race Car for 2018 Competition at Petit Le Mans! The brightly colored red, black and white race car with the large Transformers Autobot shield on the nose was impressive at the highly attended press conference at the final race of the IMSA 2017 season. The @miiakira2017 Twitter account continues to share G1 design work! Today, we've got some sketches for Octane, described here in a very British way as a "Tank Lorry"; artwork for a pair of folding launcher bays designed in the Diaclone Car Robots days, and what are described as figure studies for "erasers," but don't seem to match either the Decoys or the G1 erasers that were produced - at least the US ones. The younger generation needs Transformers as well. If you want your children to have Transformers that are slightly more involved than Rescue Bots, then this is the way to go.
