Appearently, he was Michael Bay's first choice for the lead in Transformers 4. He was unable to accept the role due to production conflcts with his role in the new Hercules movie. Subsequently, as we know how the role was given Mark Wahlberg instead who was his co-star in Bay's "Pain & Gain" that is in theaters now. See the tweet below for the full reveal now.
