Transformers Adventure - Rumors Of New Product Listings Include Rumble & Frenzy, Black Shadow, More!

Autobase Aichi has posted a rumored list of upcoming Transformers Adventure products which features a few surprises! One is a Rumble and Frenzy 2-pack, and another is Black Shadow. What are these? Or at least, what do we think they are? Keep reading for the listings and some thoughts on what they mean!

Let's go with the easy ones: TED13 Drift and TED14 Fracture are by virtue of being the TED series, the One-Step Changer versions of Drift and Fracture. The Mini-Con Deployers are accounted for as TAV27 and TAV24, respectively.

Now we get into the interesting things. TAV30 Battle Grimlock, at 4500 Yen, does not correspond to any existing figure we know of. A recolor of the bigger 3-Step Grimlock is unlikely - TED-02 was the TakaraTomy release of Hyperchange Heroes/3-Step Changers Grimlock, and was 1,000 Yen less than this. This may be a new mold much as TAV21 Optimus Prime is. If so, it's still smaller than that, as TAV21 is 6800 Yen.

Next up is TAV31 Black Shadow. This one seems pretty simple: TAV has served as a clearinghouse of sorts for molds, decos, and characters that were never released before by TakaraTomy, as with the Beast Hunters releases. Generations Sky Shadow, the Thunderwing remold based on Japanese character Black Shadow, has actually never been released in Japan before. Seems like the safe bet!

Lastly is TAV32 Rumble & Frenzy. With a price of 3500 Yen, this raises some interesting questions.

Via retailer computer leaks, the rumor is that we're getting a Rewind figure in the Generations Combiner Wars Legends class next year - and we've already seen a Buzzsaw with a datapad alt-mode at BotCon, as well as renders of a "Titan Wars" version of Blaster. So it seems likely that such a figure would be on the way. And if there's a Soundwave, it's extremely likely that Rewind is destined to ultimately become Rumble and Frenzy as well as probably Eject.

However, there's two problems with assuming this mold would be what is used for TAV32. For one, it's a bit early for that, as Rewind is presumed to happen sometime in mid to late 2016. The projected price is a bigger issue: Legends have been retailing for closer to 1300 Yen apiece, which makes 3500 Yen for two of them entirely too high.

You know what did retail for very close to 3500 Yen, though? A pair of figures from the now-retired Scout size-class. Namely, Transformers United UN20 Rumble and Frenzy, who were once destined for Reveal The Shield but never released in the US. While using Adventure to reissue those seems odd, the only other size class for a 2-pack that would make any sense - RID Warrior Class, which is roughly analogous to Deluxes - is roughly 4500 Yen, as seen in the TAV-VS series. So this is the most logical choice.

Of course, this list may not even be real, as up to now this is just a rumor. But the prices and names do largely line up to things that are possible - except for Grimlock. But it's Grimlock, a year after a movie he was a mascot for, so a new toy produced expressly for the Japanese market is far from impossible.
