Wonderfest 2017 Winter - LG-EX Legends Headmaster Comic Released & They're Giving That Clear Prime Away Again
RAC - Thursday, February 16, 2017

Wonder Festival 2017 Winter is this weekend in Japan, and to celebrate TakaraTomy is giving away yet another run of that clear plastic (old) Legends scale Optimus Prime, which by now has to be the least rare and least exclusive rare exclusive in history. They've also released the tie-in comic for the LG-EX Headmasters set which will debut at Wonderfest and go on to be sold at Cybertron Satellite stores in Japan. The comic introduces a new concept: Double Headmasters. Keep reading for more info!
In the context of the comic, a Double Headmaster is when a Transtector for one of the LG-EX Headmasters transformers into robot mode and one of the two Headmaster/Titan Master figures stays in the vehicle mode cockpit to... some kind of benefit? Maybe a translation of the comic would be useful here. But at least the comic points out something important: between the Babyseat Cannon and the actual driver/pilot compartment, you will always have place for both heads in both modes.

On the contest front, if you're in Japan there's a hashtag you can Tweet in the image to take a shot at winning one of those clear Primes if you don't have one already. There's also a shot at winning Movie The Best MB-11 Optimus Prime!

TakaraTomy has posted their exhibition schedule on their website, giving interested attendees of Tokyo Toy Show a heads up to what's on offer. Autobase Aichi has run down the Transformers-specific features of the two-day event. In addition to a movie Optimus Prime prop vehicle being on hand for photos and such, on Sunday there's an hour scheduled for a Transformers presentation, which is expected to be a product reveal/preview event. And of course there will be display cases at TakaraTomy's exhibit space as always, also likely to show some new goods. Tokyo Toy Show opens Saturday, June 3rd.
This weekend, May 27th will see the release in Japan of Masterpiece Artfire, and LG-42 Legends Series Godbomber. The latter was the subject of a bit of promotion via TakaraTomy's TF_pr Twitter account. In a pair of tweets earlier today they showed an in-box image as well as a side by side with Super Ginrai, which came out some months ago now. Godbomber has been well-anticipated, both for allowing collectors to create the modernized God Ginrai, and also as the first new Legends Series release in a while - though there will be a bit of a hiatus again until Dinosaurer in August! Click through to see both photos.
TFSource have let us know they just posted the official images for Takara Transformers Legends class figures and their companion figures. Get a look at LG49 Target Master Triggerhappy, LG48 Gong / Brawn & Repugnus, and LG47 Kickback & Clouder in the gallery now.
Finally! After more than a few people placed preorders for the TakaraTomy version of these Titans Return figures sight unseen, Dengeki Hobby has posted images for October's Legends releases! Kickback sports silver-lined clear plastic wings now - maybe not exactly what we all hoped for but still a significant improvement. But surprisingly, Triggerhappy's faceplate doesn't seem to have changed, which is very unusual for a Legends release of a TR figure. Guess you'll have to settle for the all-new Targetmaster partner. Keep reading to see the photos!
Loopaza on Facebook has shared out some images of the Transformers feature in the recent release of Hyper Hobby Magazine. The two page article shows off Trypticon, the exclusive Black Convoy, plus new looks at the "testshot" versions of Legends Kup and Hot Rod that mix Hasbro toys with grey copies of the new TakaraTomy retool parts. There's also a little focus on the Japanese release of Barricade in The Last Knight line from TakaraTomy. We've mirrored the pages for easy viewing, check them out below!
