Wonderfest 2017 Winter - LG-EX Legends Headmaster Comic Released & They're Giving That Clear Prime Away Again
RAC - Thursday, February 16, 2017

Wonder Festival 2017 Winter is this weekend in Japan, and to celebrate TakaraTomy is giving away yet another run of that clear plastic (old) Legends scale Optimus Prime, which by now has to be the least rare and least exclusive rare exclusive in history. They've also released the tie-in comic for the LG-EX Headmasters set which will debut at Wonderfest and go on to be sold at Cybertron Satellite stores in Japan. The comic introduces a new concept: Double Headmasters. Keep reading for more info!
In the context of the comic, a Double Headmaster is when a Transtector for one of the LG-EX Headmasters transformers into robot mode and one of the two Headmaster/Titan Master figures stays in the vehicle mode cockpit to... some kind of benefit? Maybe a translation of the comic would be useful here. But at least the comic points out something important: between the Babyseat Cannon and the actual driver/pilot compartment, you will always have place for both heads in both modes.

On the contest front, if you're in Japan there's a hashtag you can Tweet in the image to take a shot at winning one of those clear Primes if you don't have one already. There's also a shot at winning Movie The Best MB-11 Optimus Prime!

This year's Tokyo Toy Show exclusive Black Convoy has become somewhat infamous - it sold out the first day it was for sale at the show, and barely any secondary retail outlets were able to obtain stock, and the remaining quantity was so low that it was only made available afterward on TakaraTomy Mall as a lottery sale item. TakaraTomy has decided to respond to the unexpected demand by issuing a second run of the figure. A placeholder listing is up, and it looks like preorders will begin on July 4th. We don't know when they will be delivered, but we can expect at least a few months between. Keep reading for a link to the product page!
Finally we round out the TakaraTomy Legends product updates with November's items. Currently the last set that's been solicited, though from Tokyo Toy Show reports, we have a good idea of some of what we can expect in December! This batch has Sixshot, Broadside with the other half of Repugnus, and Targetmasters Doublecross and Misfire. Doublecross notably comes with Haywire as a Targetmaster, making it just a bit more essential to current Blurr owners. Click through to view all of the images below!
TakaraTomy's big product page update carries on with the October product assortment! Featured in this batch are stock images for Kickback with Clouder, Brawn with Repugnus, and Triggerhappy with his Targetmaster partner. This gives us some of our best direct looks at Triggerhappy's Targetmaser so far, as well as a very clear look at the new face deco on the Headmaster component. You can find all of these photos in the gallery - click through to see them now!
TakaraTomy has posted pages for all the upcoming Legends Series toys from now through November. We're breaking them down by month, and up next is the September batch! This features the anticipated Kup and Hot Rod releases, plus the TakaraTomy version of the Sharkticon with a Sweep Titan Master for use with your surplus Scourge bodies - or anyone else of course. You can find the batch mirrored below - and keep watching for more of the TakaraTomy stock image dump!
TakaraTomy's website has been updated today with product pages for all of the upcoming Legends Series items through November. Starting off we've got stock images of Trypticon, representing the version that will be sold in Japan. I'll admit I can't immediately identify the differences to the US version, but now with high res stock images, it'll be easier to scrutinize for those tiny details. Find the images mirrored below, and stay tuned for lots more to come!
