Hasbro Transformers SDCC Showcase

Just posted is a new batch of hi-quality pictures showing off Hasbro's Transformers Showcase at SDCC. Get a good look at Devastator Landfill, Alternators, lots of new Energon figure sets, new redecos and more that were on display this year. See the gallery here.

Here is a list of the figures on the SDCC Transformers display for Preview Night.

ALTERNATORS

Ah, the Alternators. What are Transformers now without them? If you recall these were not shown at last year's SDCC. This is the test drive, so to speak, to see how new fans react to these little marvels. While many of us are still waiting on Silverstreak and Hound, here we got two new Alternators to be on the look out for. Notably, the controversial blue Tracks.

ENERGON

The highlight seems to be on these new verses sets. Each exclusive set comes with two resized, re-molded and/or re-decoed figures combined into a single package. Are you ready for Back-to-School? There are four different sets all being released in September. The CostCo exclusive Optimus Prime / Overload set looks particularly interesting.

Not to be overlooked is a handful of new Energon figures and other items many of us are seeing for the first time. A bit of surprise is a Cliffjumper redeco. Sorry, didn't catch the name. You can see the Ironhide redeco as the bottom half of powerlinx Cliffjumper.

GENERATION 1

Hasbro has a knack for throwing in the mysterious G1 toy that don't say much about. This year we have a lone White Astrotrain. Update, we have word that it be will be a future TRU reissue. In addition, was a large sampling of the Commemorative Series line on display.

UNIVERSE

He's like the Energizer bunny. Devastator, he just keeps going and going. Universe will be releasing TWO new figure sets that are arguably some sort of homage to the Constructicon combiner. Another Landfill team is just what we all need. Though, it really is pretty swell looking. The Defensor Protectobots Team were also on display to round out the Micromasters support. The Micromaster reissue is the real jem here. Previously released as a chase set with Takara's SixBuilder reissue last year.
