TakaraTomy Legends Series Reissues Canceled Due To Lack of Orders
ExVee - Thursday, August 10, 2017

A little while back, TakaraTomy polled for what Legends Series toys respondents in Japan would be interested in having another shot at. From those results, several preorders went up on TakaraTomy Mall, with the condition that they could be canceled if enough orders weren't received. It seems that has in fact been the case, with Autobase Aichi now reporting a number of those reissues will no longer be happening. Keep reading to find out which ones didn't make the cut!

According to Autobase Aichi, the reissues of LG07 Jetfire, LG13 Megatron, LG31 Fortress Maximus, and LG32 Chromedome have been canceled. That still leaves several that are evidently moving forward, including Arcee which will be having at least its third run, Windblade, Ultra Magnus, and from the more recent part of the line, Blurr, Scourge, and Wheelie, which were all high demand items internationally, and seemingly hold enough interest still within Japan to justify the rerelease run to happen.

TakaraTomy's official site has posted the complete stock photo sets for February 2018's Legends Series releases. We've already seen these toys a fair bit today with several stages of stock image drops taking place in the early hours of Tuesday. As usual for the official site listings, these include added looks at the Headmaster components, as well as full turnarounds for each toy in their different modes, leading to quite a few photos altogether! We've got the whole mess collected together in the gallery below for more convenient viewing - click through to take a look!
Shared through Planet Iacon on Facebook, we get to see the first looks at February's Legends Series assortment, which was first revealed last week in a leaked text listing. The assortments includes the Clonetrons - that is, the Decepticon Clones Pounce and Wingspan, Targetmaster Windblade who, contrary to popular speculation is not packed with Fracas! And finally G2 Megatron, leaning in to the purple G2 deco, and including the Fangry Titan Master accessory - decoed as Savage Noble from Beast Machines! There's more detail to be seen in the images, click through to have a look at them in our gallery!
Thanks to the translating efforts of Sanchimaru and editing by Jalaguy we've got the English version of the comic packed with Legends Series Dinosaurer - Trypticon - now available for everyone to read. While certainly at a bit more... moderate of a pace than the web comic prelude, it's still fairly dense with things going on, much of which involves some downright convenient destruction of old toys transtectors almost as if a new batch of toys was on the way in a few months! Click through to read the comic and for a link to the translated prequel!
The next three figures in Takara's Transformers Legends line are LG61 Clone Drone Set, LG62 Targetmaster Wingblade, and LG63 G2 Megatron. Like others in the line, these figures will feature a premium paint application with a more modern interpretation, include weapons and accessories, and will come packed with a mini-comic.
On September 30th, LG44 Sharkticon ships with a new Sweeps-themed Headmaster for LG26 Scourge! He'll be reissued in December to make this easier on those looking to troop-build. But, compared to his contemporaries Hot Rod and Kup, who also ship at the end of this month, something's still missing... not to worry though, as we believe Scourge will be complete come February. Keep reading for a refresher on recent and upcoming Legends Series releases, and how they relate to Scourge!
