The Encore edition of Car Robots Fire Convoy and God Magnus are going to feature updated, and supposedly expanded sound chips featuring a lot of new dialogue and sound effects. To highlight this, TakaraTomy has posted three samples taken from what's going to be put on Fire Convoy's sound chip. Those who've been around long enough to have an original Fire Convoy will recognize that each of the phrases previewed here are brand new to the toy. Our earlier report indicated that an Encore release of God Fire Convoy (the combined form of Fire Convoy and God Magnus from Car Robots) was solicited for March of 2018. We treated it with due skepticism, but it looks like through a post on Loopaza's Facebook page it's for real. And we have a price tag to go with it: 30,000 Yen. It's a lot of toy in that package, especially with the expectation that the electronics will be kept intact. For reference, when originally released in 2000, Fire Convoy and God Magnus each retailed for 4,980 Yen. Hopefully there will be a giant sword in that Encore packaging smooth the price over a bit!
Singapore fangroup Planet Iacon
has posted to Facebook that March 2018's TakaraTomy Transformers offerings will include a surprise. In addition to the latest round of Legends Series products, TakaraTomy is also producing the first new Encore figure since 2013: God Fire Convoy!
We don't know what Planet Iacon's sources are for this info, but they've been pretty good in the past. But for now, keep reading as you take these listings with a grain of salt.
TakaraTomy has posted a sample image for the package art for Unite Warriors Ruination! "Evil Destronger Combiner Combatron Baldigus," is due in late March and isn't just a recolor of Unite Warriors Bruticus to match his Robots In Disguise recolor, no. TakaraTomy is also adding a suite of combining weapons as well as US Combiner Wars Computron's hands and feet to the mix. Keep reading to see the package art!
This week on QTransformers II: Cliffjumper explains the post-Beast Wars Transformers continuity to Lockdown, including Car Robots, Micron Legend, Super Link, and Galaxy Force! We have to presume that the title is referring to their failure to be
sequels to G1, since the phrase "parallel world" comes up at least once. Keep reading to watch the Japanese-language, dialogue-intensive comedy series!
