There could be a new Robots in Disguise G2 style Build King set coming our way. Thanks to from Dick at HK-TF.com we have news and pictures of a new RID gestalt set in the works. This one is obviously modeled after the G2 Devastator. We don't have many more details right now. In the mean time, check out the pictures we have from Dick below.

Weird. I suppose the crap encrusted on each vehicle is supposed to be dirt and/or mud. I got all excited about this news when I read about it at Transfandom.com, as a Constructicon-colored Build King/Landfill seems like a no-brainer. I come here and see that the shitty G2 colors are being used. Whatever. I'll save my $$$ and wait for an Armada Constructicon gestalt (I know, it's a longshot, but I CAN dream right?) that is colored better.

I too think it just looks like a custom job. Doesn't look like "mud" to me...just looks like a crappy paint job in places...especially in some places where it looks like you can see some original colors coming through. And what's up with the head? The "chrome" part looks all chipped up and you can see yellow underneath(or over it).

As a Devastator, this guy IS awful! The description really should have said, "This one is obviously reminiscent of the G2 Devastator." If Hasbro really intended this guy to be Devastator, they should have painted him differently and, at the very least, slather Decepticon insignias on him instead of Autobot insignias.
As a stand-alone, non-Devastator character, he actually looks good. That supposedly awful detailing and happy sunshiney color should look better in real life when/if the toys hit the shelves (At least the camera did not add ten tons). And, he may not be sold as a late RiD character but possibly as part of the recently unveiled Transformers: Expanded Universe line.
Anyway, I was rather hoping Hasbro would not recolor (properly, of course) Build King as Devastator, as logical as that does sound. Why, we would only be getting four characters (Bonecrusher, Hook, Scavenger, Long Haul) instead of six! I would rather have a Devastator with all SIX Constructicons (a man can dream, can't he?). Since Build King/Landfill's arms look either like little, tiny crab claws or clawed Popeye arms (Look, Ma! No hands!), I would recommend adding Scrapper and Mixmaster as more convincing arms. (And if Hasbro actually listens, then I have this cute little bridge in Iacon to sell you....)

Difficult to say really. Some bits look like their cast in different plastic, and one of the Autobot symbols is in a different place to Landfill. On the other hand, the silver paint looks a bit fake and in pic 8 you can clearly see yellow painted over grey.

Its just being done in the color of plastic used for the old G2 release of Devastator. And its not a knock off I dont think cause it looks too well done....but we will have to wait and see just WHAT it is, and if its coming to the States.

This is an obivious paint job someone tried on Build King. First, the pictures speak volumes as to the painting technique! Look into the clear glass windows, notice the inside of it is not colored? Also, the dirt color seems to match the original colors!
In some regards, this could be a really bad paint job on a prototype. Someone mentioned the grey paint in the joints. Although a great job, someone could have disassembled the whole toy and painted those joints! Just because there is no paint wear in the joints does not mean it has not been painted over! Although the painting could have been refined, this person gets an A for effort!

Ugh all of you are Dumb @$$es, I agree with teknoskull here...its cool, But it may or may not be a knock off, I dont think it is, But lets wait till we know more about it before we bash it. Again Teknoskull is right lets just wait and see what it is, and if its coming here.

it would be nice to reissue build king here in the U.S. with this color scheme. The color scheme for the original set reminded me of something out of a rainbow brite set. If this is a custom job it's not bad and if it's an actually prototype then they need to do a better job. Hopefully this will come as a boxed set.
