A few places have been saying that it will ship in Robot form so they won't need to open it up and place an orange plug on the tip. Does anyone else know if this is true? (Lost and Found toys is one of the sites claiming this)

I'm still not 100% on this fig,he still looks a tad spindly in places.
I will admit,however,that he looks alot better in color.I'll most likely be getting him.

Sure, if you buy yours from a domestic importer. Skip the extra middleman and order from Japan.

I though it was only BBTS that says thier going to have the orange barrel plug, just about everywhere else is saying it will be shipped in robot mode. but either way it look amazing I just ordered mine a few days ago from TFsource.com

No, Digital toys and a few other are doing the same thing. I got my 3 in Japan.
I still believe even if they say they are capping the Megs they order they are also breaking the law by importing.

I think the feet could have been a little more solid looking. I love this toy but i do wish that the designers had used a different gun model, one that is chunkier, would have had more to play with re the robo mode.

With Megatron, Once you go Classics, you don't go back. Seriously, Classics Megatron has gotta be in the top 5 Transformers ever. I seem to find no end to dymanic poses for him, (I really, really don't get people who think he's posing deficient. He's the best poser I've ever owned. And I've owned a lot of Transformers.)

if I remember correctly, I think that Orange Plug cannot come off. And no matter WHERE you order Megs from you're going to get a fat orange plug. Cause Uh, it's a law about weapons...especially replica guns.
So you're going to have an oranged capped Megs no matters what...
And if you try to take that thing off, you had better not take it out of your house because by law, it'll be seized considering it's a masterpiece accurate color reproduction of the Walter .

I used to stand up for the Classics Megatron. Then this guy came around, and all my plans of getting that Nerfer fell. I'm going to get this, and no damned orange abomination is going to ruin the might that is Megatron!

Im in a weird spot. I want it, but when I look at the legs, I get pissed off, tear my clothing and pull my hair (short fade). Then I go back and repeat the same process over an over. Honestly though, it is the best Megatron model to date. (Getting pissed). But they could have done something with the damn legs!!!! (Ripping off shirt).They could have made the silencer come apart and cover the legs or somthing fold to cover the trigger or have the trigger come apart or attach it separately!!! (Pulling hair) Anything would do as long as the legs were covered. But he looks exellent and I want it. (Putting on new cothing)

I agree when it comes to the legs, in front view they seem too skinny, but its understandable since you wouldn't want a fat handle in gun mode anyway. Overall he looks really nice and I'd be willing to buy one, even if it had to have a worthless orange cap. Of course, if I could get one that's unmodified, that would be better.

Don't get snobby about the orange cap. Just sink $20 into getting a classics megatron. arguably the best figure of the whole classics line, he is totally awesome! (Yes, I have Prime and Jetfire. and as awesome as they are, Megatron is still head and shoulders above!)

Classics Megatron = Shellformer, in my mind, a shelllformer is a cop out, so the robot mode might be nice and all, and the gun may be OK, but it's still not a good TRANSFORMER. Masterpiece Megatron however, has a good gun mode, and a good robot mode, this means MP Megatron = Transformer. Yeah the legs are thin, but so what? It's the best G1 homage Megatron we have ever seen that actually transforms!
