TCC Announces BotCon 2007 Convention Exclusives

By News_Staff on Saturday, March 31, 2007

BotCon 2007 brings you an outstanding collection of G1 figures that are a “must have” for every collector!

The Games of Deception! set will be the perfect compliment to your Classics collection. Everything is packed in foam in a large illustrated deluxe box with art by Transformers artist extraordinaire, Don Figueroa! Don't wait to place your order as this set is limited.* Watch www.botcon.com for photographs of these amazing figures as soon as they become available.

This year’s five piece, one-of-a-kind convention set features, for the first time in the U.S., the exciting new character Bugbite, along with 4 of the most awesome Decepticons ever to take to the skies: Dreadwind, Thrust, Dirge and Thundercracker! Here is your chance to complete your Seeker set while grabbing the best BotCon convention set to date.

It’s been 15 years since Optimus Prime and his Autobot warriors finally defeated the Decepticons, or so they had hoped. Megatron, thought to have been destroyed after crashing back into Earth aboard the Autobots’ ship the Ark, has once again found his way back from the brink of destruction. This time he will stop at nothing to conquer both Earth and Cybertron. It seems that the Autobots are not the only ones standing in his way...

From across the galaxy, a mysterious Decepticon makes his way towards Earth. With him is a crew of Decepticons who seem to follow their new commander with a loyalty that in years past would only be shown towards the strongest of Decepticons. Who is this mysterious figure? And why are some of the most feared of the Decepticon elite following him? This summer, all the questions are answered as BotCon 2007 presents Games of Deception!

Just great.

Now we poor fans need to spend a LOT of money just to get all the Seekers. Why can't Hasbro just release these worldwide?

My apologies to anyone that is offended by the following statement, but I can't word this any other way

Hasbro, you are assholes.

Why are Hasbro @$$holes? Hasbro has moved on from the Classics line. As much as some people, myself have like it, the line is done! They are focusing on the Movie toys and beyond. At least Botcon is giving people an opportunity to get all the classic seekers officially, at a high cost granted. Hasbro was never going to release them mass market. At least some people will git them this way and I think that is better than no one.

But that is exactly why I say they are what they are. They know people want the full set but are going to force them to pay $300+ for it. Granted, people are going for more than that but the point is Hasbro has lately been holding back majorly desireable figures for special shows or for collector's club limited editions.

That is why I said that. And I hold my opinion to such.

You are entitled to you opinion and I respect that! I would just point out that while Hasbro works with Master Collector, ultimately Master Collector, not Hasbro, decides what toys get produced and how as exclusive and how much those exclusives cost.

That is total BS!!! Dirge, Thrust, and Thundercracker should be available to the public. Characters like Sunstorm, and whoever else that were not in the G1 show should be exclusives. Now I'm going to have to pay like $400 just to get the last 3 seekers from G1.

Or you could get them for $319. The Member Cost is $279 shipped. The cost of membership is $40. (Why you'd pay extra to not join the club I don't know.)

If you really WANT to pay $400 for them, I can get you a set for that price.

If Hasbro had made these available in wide release then everyone would be complaining about how money hungry they are giving us six versions of the same mold (three nicely retooled.)

Some people just like to complain, I guess.

We all knew they were going to pull this, but it doesn't piss me off any less...They know these are fan favorite characters, why not a mass release for Thundercracker at least?

I was planning on repainting SS as Thundercracker anyway, but being very poorly artistically inclined, I'll probably end up getting these. Especially since I want the full set and haven't got the skill to create kitbash wings for Dirge and Thrust.

And how much do you want to bet that this 'secret extra exclusive' figure is gonna be a repainted Megatron (Galvatron)? I'll lay odds on it. Besides, why save $10 by getting that crappy monthly newsletter? I have enough junk mail in my box already.

This isn't about fans, it's about a money grab.

Well, we can either shell out $300 to order the set, or I suppose we can wait until afterwards and pay even more on eBay...

I feel your pain, man.

Relax..wait and buy the Takara versions of all the Classics seekers when they come out. I have a very strong feeling that Takara will release classics with more recolours (including the seekers), plus recoloured or remolded energon and cybertron figs (like that little blue truck fella, etc).

wait. and dont buy these rip-off figs.

If Im wrong there is always ebay, which is still a rip-off anyway.

whats to lose?

Well, I just hope the properly remold the wings for the Thrust and Dirge items.

Any info on what Dreadwind or Bugbite will be? I'm thinking Dreadwind will probably be a repainted classics Jetfire.
