British Toy Fair Transformers Show Report

TF@Moon has the scoop on 2008 UK Toy Fair! Transformers Animated Bulkhead and Optimus Prime are coming in deluxe, voyager, and leader sizes. Megatron was shown in 2 sizes, voyager and what is described as leader due to the size of the figure. That figure is described as being a helicopter with a cannon on the underbelly of the cockpit.

Animated Fast Action Battlers, called Bumper Bots, were shown with new lights and sounds. Jazz was there in G1 colors along with a version of Bumblebee.

Activators are scout-sized versions of characters from Transformers: Animated which feature spring loaded transformations.

Also, a supreme-scale Roll Out Optimus Prime from the cartoon was on display at the show. The figure sports a moving mouth with sounds from the cartoon series.

Fully painted Universe Sunstreaker, Prowl, Onslaught and Powerglide were there.

TF @ the Moon is reporting that Universe Legends were listed there, but any other information is currently unavailable.

Finally, the rumored Marvel Transformers revealed with Hulk (tank), Venum (Jeep) and Iron man (Jet) making the scene.

That "Supreme" Optimus Prime sounds more like like movie Ultimate Bumblebee than a Supreme. Hope it really is a Supreme.

I bet the key demographic of the show would disagree with your assessment of the big guy what breaks stuff and makes jokes.

Still, the fact of the matter is that Bulkhead's had a significant story arc in all of one episode, and even that he had to share with Prowl and the Dinobots. Prowl had a significant role in every episode so far except perhaps Nanosec, Bumblebee's had two focus episodes (Meltdown and Nanosec) and Ratchet's had an episode pretty much entirely to himself (Thrill of the Hunt.) Maybe Bulkhead will get more of a focus as the series goes on, but right now it seems odd that he gets so many figures.

Voyager because he's pretty big compared to the rest of the Autobots and some people will want a figure in the correct scale) but why Leader?

But the voyager figure is not in the correct scale, the robot mode is shorter than Prowl's.

I thought Prowl was a Deluxe.

In that case I'd say it's the Voyager class version that's redundant. The people on a budget can get the Deluxe while the people who want a figure in the proper scale can get the Leader.

It's not a big deal, really, I just thought it was odd.

Why is Bulkhead getting so many figures? I can understand him having a Deluxe and Voyager (Deluxe because he's a secondary character and some people won't think it's worth paying extra for him, Voyager because he's pretty big compared to the rest of the Autobots and some people will want a figure in the correct scale) but why Leader?Again, I could understand them doing this sort of thing for Prowl, since he seems to be getting the most development and screentime out of all the Animated characters who aren't Optimus, but Bulkhead is pretty much the least important of the main Autobot cast.
Armada Sideways, a bike the size of a car gets a dx and people complained that an earth bike is small and he should have been a Basic. Prowl is an Earth bike and therefore is small and only deserves a DX. Bulkhead is easily the size of OP in vehicle mode therefore deserves a LC fig..
This thread is useless without pics!

I'm not a big fan of the same character in different size classes. I'll have to see which one looks the best to me and just stick with that one. But it does sound like there are some good things coming are way. Yea for Jazz! :cjdance
