TF: The Movie Release to Feature DW Cover-art!
Visitor - Friday, January 10, 2003

Hey guys! Stephen from Theyareamongus.com here, reporting some exciting news regarding the Australian release of Transformers: The Movie DVD, distributed by Madman Entertainment.

We have been working closely with Madman throughout it's development, and as a result they have just blessed us with the very first look at a teaser sample of Don Figueroa's reversible cover design for the release!

Madman also gave us this press release to pass on:
    "March’s release of Transformers: The Movie is to feature original and exclusive cover-art in what is to be a global first!

    It was recently announced that Dreamwave Productions’ Don Allan Figueroa, artist for the popular Transformers: The War Within comic series, would be contributing art for this cult-classic release.

    “Naturally, we’re pretty chuffed!” said Dean Prenc, co-producer of the Transformers DVD release. “Dreamwave are the premiere company when it comes to Transformers artwork! Their first comic series has been reprinted a number of times and Don and Simon [Furman’s] War Within is going great guns. Hasbro even contracted Dreamwave for the art on their Armada toys!”

    “What Don has delivered, with the help of his colorist [Alan Wang], makes this DVD a true collector’s item, especially when you consider that the only place globally you’re going to be able get this artwork is with our DVD. Hell, it’s like we’re throwing in a free movie with Don’s art!”
Madman have also released the lists of extra to be featured on the disc [below], many of which have not appeared in any other territory.

Transformers: The Movie DVD is in-stores March 12th.

Extra Features Include:
* Scene Selection
* 5.1 Dolby Digital sound
* 80’s TV spots
* Theatrical trailer
* The Touch film-clip (by Stan Bush)
* Creation of the Cover Art gallery and artist bio
* Character Biographies
* Voice-actor Biographies
* Musician Biographies
* Reversible Cover by Don Figueroa

Once again, Twitter user @miiakira2017 has posted an image of their Transformers-related design work. Today, it's a classic car- the specific make, if any, eludes RAC - that would have turned into a laser pistol-wielding cowboy. Though there's a slight resemblance to 2010's Hunt for the Decepticons Scout-class Hubcap, the replies peg this as a Diaclone-era design, so well before that figure was designed and likely a coincidence. Keep reading to see!
