Robots In Disguise Rumors

TFW2005 has posted a message from online retailer Toyshoppe claiming that LG-EX Black Convoy is coming as a Tokyo Toy Show exclusive this June. It's not super-surprising to any of us that Titans Return Voyager class Optimus Prime would get made into Robots In Disguise Scourge by TakaraTomy, but it is a little surprising that it seems to be happening before the mold is otherwise released in Japan. Keep reading to see the notice!

Two pictures have surfaced on Yahoo Japan showing what apprears to be the Bludgeon and Scourge figures in English language Robots in Disguise packaging. This may settle some questions about weather the toys were being issued for the Armada or RiD series and if they will be released in the USA as well. See both of the pics HERE.

UPDATED: Matchboxproto sent us some pictures of some rather peculiar looking Spychangers. Its not the figures, but what they come in, tiny metal tins. Each car is packaged in a tiny tin just a little bigger than the car it self. We're told these will be offered as exclsuvises. Could these be the next Target exclsuives? See the images and more info HERE.

Rumors have been circulating about more RiD exclusives coming and now we have pictures that have surfaced showing repainted combaticons. Thanks to Charles5 for pics of what he's calling the "Arctic Warfare" Combaticons. See pics of Blastoff, Brawl, Swindle and Vortex HERE.

A source in Asia has told us that the Beast Machines Dinobots may be re-issued as RiD exclusives. This info comes from a sighting of a Beast Machines Triceradon mold with a new color scheme and the addition of a large Autobots symbol on its dino head. We'll post an update when we have more.

Proto_Hunter of The Allspark, gave us some news that there was possibly another RID toy to be released. This time it was another G2 mold, the ATB that was Dreadwing and Smokescreen in G2 and used later as Starscream and BB for BW2. Read more HERE.

Thanks to from Dick at we have news and pictures of a new RID gestalt set that is obviously modeled after the G2 Devastator in the works. We don't have many more details right now. In the mean time, check out the pictures we have from Dick target=v> that you can see HERE.

Thanks to GLHeX, who posted the info on our message forums, there could be a new Robots in Disguise 2-pack coming. According to the Toy R Us inventory there is a RiD product listed as "IB Transformer RID Basic 2Pk SKN# 54-2410" that will be selling for $9.99. This description is not in concert with other RiD releases especially where a 2 figure set is concerned since the basic 2 paks sell for about $5 and the only other RiD 2-pack is a deluxe set (Sideways vs. Axer) that is not be availbable at TRU. Stay tuned here for updates as them come in.

Hasbro has posted a note on the customer support site: "The large Scourge Decepticon is tentatively scheduled to ship late 1st quarter 2002 and will be sold exclusively to Toys R Us. It should be in stores by late March/April. All shipping dates are subject to change." Keep an eye on for updates.

Rumors are flying that there will be no full size Scourge figure relased as part of the RiD line. The Scourge figure was not listed in the initial 2001 product listing rleased by Hasbro earlier this year. We have had reports of Scourge possibly appearing in one of the basic 2-Packs. Scourge is one of the most anticipated figures to be released from the RiD action figures line. Undoubtly, this will be a major disappointment to fans and collectors. If you have any info on this, please post a comment below.

There is talk online about some new RiD spychangers coming out. The figures supposedly include Optimus Prime, Ultra Magnus, X-Brawn and Scourge. Post a comment below if you know more about these.
