Robots In Disguise Reviews

The dub for Robots in Disguise in 2001 grabbed a lot of people's attention while it aired, but little has had ongoing staying power with most fans. Sky-Byte is one such element, thanks in no small part to the voice performance of Peter Spellos. Having previously been updated in a Botcon box set, as well as getting a new life in IDW's comic continuity, the character's popularity is well acknowledged. It's not too surprising for Sky-Byte to get a retail update in the 30th anniversary Generations line, but was Voyager really the right size class to put it in...? Keep reading!

Murder Mystery on Cybertron! Except it's not that much of a mystery. But either way it's up to Prowl to deal with the murderer and his accomplices, while also dealing with his experiences on Earth. "Devisive" is written by John Barber with art by Andrew Griffith and colors by Josh Perez. Built for the motion comic format by Tomas Sisternos with separations and setup by David Reyes. Thanks to .... for posting reviews of both the Robots in Disguise Destructicons. Check out reviews of these KB Toys Exclusives Bludgeon and Scourge that are hitting stores now in the reviews section.

After months of handwringing, the Dinobots have finally hit the shelves. I was a bit lukewarm about this set at first as I already own 3 of the molds - naturally the larger, more expensive molds. Finally I decided that 6 bots for $30 is a good deal. If you don't have any of these figures, I would highly recommend investing in a set. Most of the recolors are as good as the originals if not better. Read the reviews HERE.

Scott Lochmoeller has posted an extensive review of the Robots In Disguise Target Exclsuive - Dreadwind & Smokejumper. This set has been made several times already as: G2 Dreadwing & Smokescreen, G2 Megatron & Starscream, and Beast Wars Neo Starscream & BB. Now this dynamic duo is back in a cammo color mode just for RID. Read the review HERE

Here it is folks! We have our first up-close look at the just announced Robots in Disguise DESTRUCTICON figures Scourge and Bludgeon. The figures are re-painted versions of G2 Hero Optimus Prime as Scouge and G2 Hero Megatron as Bludgeon. Check out the robot mode, vehicle mode and tech sheets for both figures HERE.

Many thanks to Snakas for the news and pictures of the Robots In Disguise Advanced Tactical Bomber (ATB) set, includes figures Dreadwind and Smokejumper, that was just released in Japan. Get a first look at the Stealth and Figther jets set in the box with shots of the front and back HERE.

Storm Jet can fly at very high speeds and loves to chase down Decepticons who think they are faster than he is. Although he has a stormy temper, he manages to control it most of the time. But, woe to the Decepticon who pushes him beyond his patience. He conducts reconnaissance missions, deftly avoiding any missile attacks if he’s spotted by the enemy. Read more about the final deluxe toy in the Robots in Disguise line right HERE.

For toys that are almost a decade old, Axer and Sideways are a great addition to RID. The cycle modes look realistic with excellent colour schemes; the robot modes have nifty light-up weapons and reasonably good poseability. Read the review HERE.

Barrelling down the highway, its motor roaring, its headlights blazing, and its horns blaring, the mighty oil tanker is the undisputed king of the road. Now imagine one that transforms into a battle platform bristling with artillery and a power-hungry evil robot with a bigass sword, and you've got Decepticon Commander Scourge. Read the review HERE.

When faced with those who insist that BM sucked, one needs only to point to the toys in order to totally refute that claim. Case in point is Megatron Megabolt, a leftover from the much-overlooked Battle For The Spark series. Read the review HERE.

The Wal*Mart Exclusive Robots in Disguise set, Sideways Vs. Axer, has been reviewed. You read all about them here.

Ben Yee has reviewed the soom to be released Toys R Us exclusive Supreme Optimus Primal. You can see scads of images here ans read the tech specs here.

Like the Osprey, Ridsidian's twin rotors can tilt forward in order to fly faster. But while the Osprey functions as a troop/equipment transport, Ridsidian is clearly designed for combat. Twin five-barrelled rocket launchers are mounted on his sides and a heavy machine gun is housed underneath his cockpit. Read the review HERE.
