Simon Furman has gotten in touch with us to talk about To The Death, a new collaboration between Furman and fellow Transformers comics veteran Geoff Senior. While not directly Transformers-related, the digital comic is set to feature "a digital comic book saga set in Earth’s future that echoes the hard-edged sci-fi of Dragon’s Claws and Death’s Head (both of which we co-created) and some of the heavy mech of Transformers" according to Furman. Just up on the officail Prime 1 Studio page are new official images of the PMTF-02 Megatron Transformers: Generation 1 Statue. The non-transforming statue is one of the best sculpts of the Decepticon Leader we have seen to date. The figure is super detailed with a stunning silver metallic color theme that celebrates most of the glory of Megatron, complete with his P38 arm cannon. Shout! Factory has posted two new YouTube videos promoting their upcoming release of Transformers: The Movie 30th Anniversary Edition! The Blu-Ray edition, due out September the 13th, is taken from a new 4K-grade restoration; the second video details the process of remastering which was done with high-quality film elements. Great care was taken to produce the highest-quality image, and special care was taken to make sure Hot Rod was properly magenta. Check out the videos after the jump!

MP-33 MASTERPIECE INFERNO WITH MINI OPTIMUS PRIME Inferno is finally joining Takara's Masterpiece series! MP-33 Masterpiece Inferno transforms into a fully licensed Mitsubishi Fuso T951 Ladder Fire Truck. Just like in the animation, his ladder completely disappears when in robot mode! His accessories include three different grill parts, two different heads with three alternate face parts, forearm-mounted communicators, an optional bonus mini 1.5” metal Optimus Prime, and a fire hose with two different wrist blasters. Combine all of this with the included water effect part, and you can recreate many scenes from the movie.




We've got a little more left to show from Summer Wonderfest yet! Autobase Aichi has delivered a gallery of some of the licensed Transformers works, mostly focused on Prime 1 Studios statues including Optimus Primal, G1 Optimus Prime and Megatron along with a Nemesis Prime redeco, and several more movie based ones, including Shockwave. We also get a good shot of Ultimetal Ultra Magnus, though only in its basically fully assembled state. Click through to see the mirrored photos.




We've still got Transformers coming in from San Diego Comic Con tonight. Our team at the show has just sent over a gallery of photos from the prime 1 Studio display, showing off their new G1-based Optimus Prime statue. Highly detailed and featuring interesting restyling, this statue shipping between July and September of 2017 is set to run $999, making it ideal for the most hardcore Optimus Prime collector.
