TRANSFORMERS: Forged to Fight is a new 3D action-fighter and character collection game that gives players access to nearly every era of the franchise’s history, challenging gamers to assemble the ultimate team of Transformers characters, including Autobots and Decepticons from the animated TV series, blockbuster films, as well as fan-favorites from the Transformers comic book series and Hasbro’s line of iconic figures. Gizmodo is reporting on a new licensed Transformers product. Winning Solutions is produced a Transformers-themed version of Monopoly, based around common concepts of G1, like using popular characters in place of properties, or making game pieces shaped like Unicron and the Matrix instead of a hat. With a very attractive styling and mapping of the game to Transformers-relevant elements, this seems like an ideal themed edition of Monopoly. Until you discover the price in excess of $500. Last year's short but memorable Transformers: Devastation
featured a boss battle with Shockwave where the one-handed logician displayed a fascinating, very video-gamey power: the ability to create duplicates of himself. Naturally you'd think this was an invention by Platinum Games... but it's not! DeNA Games has made the somewhat unsurprising announcement that, like most of their other Transformers games, Transformers Battle Tactics will be ending soon. As of yesterday the game no longer updates, as of March 10th in-app purchases will end and the game will no longer be downloadable, but the game will remain playable until May 12. A popular Transformers Video Game has been a long time coming, so long that many felt it was not possible. Even Kenji Saito, the director on the Transformers: Devastation game from Activision that was released Fall 2015. Depending on who you ask, the game has hits and misses as far as game play and design go. But few can deny, this has been the most fulfilling Transformers game experience so far. Part of that credit goes to Saito, who shares some of the challenges and how he approached Transformers: Devastation design in recent interview with Gamespot.
