The Transformers Live Action Move Blog has posted a rumor sourced from noted Hollywood insider site Christian Today... which got it from Design & Trend... which got it from some podcast who got it from some random Facebook page ...that Ultra Magnus and the Quintessons will appear in Transformers 5. We're skeptical, for reasons we'll go into in the article - but this is notable because it means the TF5 hype train is underway. Keep reading for more details on this game of Internet Telephone!
The Library of Congress has the National Film Registry where they take the best films (at least 10 years old) selected by the public and the library for what they say is “culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant". They will seriously consider the number of public votes when deciding on a piece for the registry. Cartoons are on the list. Since the 3-part 'More than Meets the Eye' series does qualify, all you have to do is email the registry and ask them to consider the Transformers More than Meets the Eye 3-part cartoon series that started the Transformers universe. Be sure to include the year that the series first aired at http://www.loc.gov/film/vote.html
The Hasbro Briefing Binder rolls on! We're up to the third tab, labeled 1985 product. This is broken into two parts. Jim Sorenson says that halfway through this section the pages become double-sided, and he wanted to make it easy to reproduce that experience. Head on over to download the two file parts now from Disciples of Boltax
Follow the posting of the the early draft script of The Transformers: The Movie. Jim Sorensen has yet more Transformers (1984) movie goodness for all to enjoy. This round features the Transformers 1984-85 briefing book that was given to Mr. Friedman to aid him in the task of writing the movie. A lot of this is material that's been seen before, but it's interesting to see how it all fits together. The first part is a collection of pages from a red three-ring binder. You can get part 1 now at from his blog at boltax.blogspot.com
Thanks to Jim Sorensen! Last month, a group of dedicated fans pooled their resources to attempt to purchase a piece of Transformers history; scripts and other documents from Transformers movie writer Ron Friedman. The most anticipated among the many documents we purchased was an early draft of The Transformers: The Movie, dated 4/27/1985. Jim has scanned it in and done a preliminary OCR pass, so without further ado, here it is for download
! Check his blog for excerpts from the script now at Disciples of Boltax
An Astro commercial featuring the Beijing 2008 Olympics is definitely an interesting sight to behold. At first, the robots' pieces shift into place a little bit, and start their respective sports like one of those Nike commercials, but after that, things get interesting, which we'll let you watch to find out what happens
then. Is this what it was like during the Golden Age of Cybertron? "One shall stand, one shall fall." Olympian spirit, indeed. Competing in the Olympics is the right of all sentient beings.

The first season of the Generation 1 cartoon is now available on Joost. Hasbro
has also announced that one new episode from the second season will be added every week. The free service, Joost.com

I just wanted to let all Canadians that have YTV know that according to the YTV Schedule pages on their website, that for this week late Saturday, August, 26, 2006 night/early Sunday, August, 27, 2006 morning, from around Midnight/12:00a.m.-2:00a.m., they will be showing the 1980's animated Transformers: The Movie. For those wondering if it will be the U.S. version, the Canadian version (which is the 1 that has Spike say a swear word), or the U.K. verison (In which at the end, a narrator mentions that Optimus Prime will 1 day return), I should note that it will most likely be the U.K. verison. The reason for this is that in the past, when YTV has shown this movie, it was always the U.K. version, even when it was shown on the late nights. Just keep in mind that YTV may still decide to do a last minute change, just like what happened to the 4 back to back episodes of Beasties a few Saturdays ago.
