TFW2005 user Mr. Chaos
has posted a listing of UPCs for upcoming Power of the Primes
products from ToysRUs' computer! If you've followed the PotP leaks since July and August, the contents of Wave 2 and 3 aren't exactly a surprise - but this is pretty good confirmation of what's to come. Keep reading for more info!
Today we're proud to be rolling out a new feature on TFormers! We call it the Wave Tracker, and it's designed to give you an at-a-glance indication of what the most current info about a given toy is. Are there pre-orders up yet for Power of the Primes
Wave 2? What's the next Masterpiece figure being released? Any reviews or photo galleries of the newest TakaraTomy Legends figures out there? If we know, the Wave Tracker will tell you. Keep reading to learn more!
The Grand Maximus preorder period is over, and TakaraTomy have announced the results. While the recolor of Titans Return
Fortress Maximus did meet its prerequisite of 2000 preorders and will be made, it couldn't quite reach the goal of 3000 that was necessary for TakaraTomy to manufacture the special Pretender shell for the smaller Headmaster figure. It's a pity, but focus on the positive: for the first time since we got Titan Class figures, there is an exclusive recolor available of one. Keep reading for the announcement from TakaraTomy.
It's that time again: New York Comic-Con is over, and so now it's time to go over what exactly we know about the figures in next year's Generations line, Power of the Primes
. At this point, it's quite a lot! Some blanks were filled in at NYCC, some leaks confirmed, and even a couple minor surprises as to the nature of the Deluxe and Voyager accessories. Keep reading to see it all!
Singapore fangroup Planet Iacon
has posted to Facebook that March 2018's TakaraTomy Transformers offerings will include a surprise. In addition to the latest round of Legends Series products, TakaraTomy is also producing the first new Encore figure since 2013: God Fire Convoy!
We don't know what Planet Iacon's sources are for this info, but they've been pretty good in the past. But for now, keep reading as you take these listings with a grain of salt.
It's been a while since the first information hit about the collaboration project between mobile phone provider au and TakaraTomy to make transforming toys based on their Infobar handset. The first of these to be generally available is now up for preorder on TakaraTomy Mall. The Optimus Prime "ANNIN Version" is based on the white variation of the Infobar phone, and the robot elements are inspired by the movie series Optimus Prime. This product is expected for release in December, and is priced at 5400 Yen. No word on the availability of the red Optimus or the other characters shown previously. Click through for stock photos and product link!
With SDCC 2017 put to bed and some other sources of information having been available to us, it's time to sit down and ask the question: what exactly do we know about Power of the Primes? And the answer is: not everything, but a lot. We've guessed a lot... and there were kind of some leaks that happened Monday too. Keep reading to see what we know and how we know it!
TakaraTomy has posted their exhibition schedule on their website, giving interested attendees of Tokyo Toy Show a heads up to what's on offer. Autobase Aichi has run down the Transformers-specific features of the two-day event. In addition to a movie Optimus Prime prop vehicle being on hand for photos and such, on Sunday there's an hour scheduled for a Transformers presentation, which is expected to be a product reveal/preview event. And of course there will be display cases at TakaraTomy's exhibit space as always, also likely to show some new goods. Tokyo Toy Show opens Saturday, June 3rd.
Adam Pawlus of 16bit.com and Entertainment Earth has posted to his site about the upcoming Platinum Edition Liokaiser! He's clarified that the price on Liokaiser will be closer to $119.99 - a bit higher than the average Combiner Wars boxset but not unreasonably so in our opinion. He also said that, to his knowledge, Liokaiser will close out the Combiner Wars line in the US. Click on through for more info!
Site sponsor Robotkingdom has put up a preorder page for a new release of Unicron! The Platinum Edition preorder, set at $129.90 USD, is due to arrive in December. Not much else is known about this upcoming figure, but we'll tell you what we know and what we can safely assume after the jump.
Hisashi Yuki has posted the boxart for Unite Warriors Computron to Twitter! The eighth entry in the Japanese counterpart to the Combiner Wars line, Computron is deviating quite significantly from the Hasbro edition of the character, using different molds for three out of the four limbs and introducing a new head and chestplate to the Scattershot mold. Meanwhile, Yuki is teasing the next team of Unite Warriors - and Robots In Disguise just might get some recognition in its anniversary year after all. Keep reading!
Thanks to Deruji for providing a translation, everyone can now hear some of designer Shogo Hasui's insights towards the development of Devastator, as detailed in the recent issue of Figure King magazine. Among the more interesting points is confirmation of fan theories that Devastator, at least to Hasui, is also effectively a stand-in for a Masterpiece version of the character. There's a lot of great material in here, so click through to read more!
QTransformers is coming back for another round of entertaining confusion! (For those of us who don't speak Japanese anyway!) Starting on July 6th, the second season of web animation shorts will feature Decepticons Starscream, Shockwave, and Soundwave! Of the three, we're able to identify Shockwave's voice actor as one Kaito Ishikawa - but that's the extent of our ability to decipher kanji. Keep reading for a look at the tiny Decepticons!
Autobase Aichi has dug up a new image showing that a Kabaya version of the Seacons will be released somewhere in the near future. These technically will represent the iteration of the Seacons from Masterforce, but they happen to be pretty much identical to the US release Seacons. The only picture of the kits are combined as King Poseidon. And since Masterforce's Seacons were legions of drones apart from Turtler, getting duplicates of most of these wouldn't be a bad thing! Maketoys gave an update today as to the current situation with Dystopia, their not-Metrotitan recolor of their not-Metroplex figure, Utopia. Besides changes to the hows and whys of shipping (but not the price), they announced that Dystopia is still available for preorder! Secondly, they posted an image of their G2-inspired yellow Giant to their Facebook page, saying that a Maketoys Exclusive was coming soon. Keep reading to see!
