Universe Reviews

So on top of holiday shopping, Masterpiece Skywarp appears in Walmarts. Assuming you can find one (remember the hunt for MP Starscream?) is he worth the $60 they're asking? Can you even risk him still being on the shelf when you get your Walmart gift card for Christmas? Maybe this review can help make a decision.

Toys R Us is currently offering 2 Ultra class exclusives for the 25th Anniversary line. One is Countdown, a redeco of Cybertron Defense Red Alert. The other is covered in this review.

The Autobots in the Universe series finally have a medic! Ratchet joins the foray as a repaint of Ironhide. See what changes Ratchet is provided and if they help with the original shortcomings by reading the review here

Anyone who remembers Armada remembers Hot Shot. They also remember what a let down his figure was. The Universe lineup is giving the over eager warrior a second chance at being a desirable figure as part of the 25th Anniversary line. Will he win you over? Read the review here and be your own judge.

Some of you might still be groaning about the update to Beast Wars Cheetor. Is it safe to let you know that Beast Wars Dinobot is on the loose? Did Hasbro get it right this time? Or will this be another disappointment? Check out this review and find out!

Another repaint? So soon? The mold hasn't even been out for a year, and already it's seeing a 3rd line of duty. Smokescreen is the next tribute to G1 commemorating 25yrs of Transformers in the US. Check out the 2nd redeco of the Nissan 350-esque design by reading the review here.

Old favorites continue to appear for the 25th anniversary commemorative lineup. For this round, we look at Hound who has picked up an unwanted hitchhiker named Ravage! Check out both alt and robot modes for these guys by reading the review

It seems Hasbro has given us several versions of the Beast Wars character known as Cheetor. And each time something was either slightly (or extremely) off. To commemorate 25yrs of Transformers, Hasbro gives us another interpretation of the speedy Maximal. Check out the latest offering in this review

Some of us have waited 22yrs for this moment. Galvatron's right hand man, Cyclonus, has finally been released as part of the Universe line. He even brought his Nebulan Targetmaster partner, Nightstick, along. Check out this deluxe class figure, and his partner, in this review.

Universe finally gets it's first original mold Voyager class figure! As part of the 25th Anniversary commemoration, Inferno is given the Universe treatment, trading in his ladder for a water cannon. Take a look at this figure by reading the review here

What, yet another Classics seeker repaint? But this just isn't any repaint. This is a more anime correct portrayal of Starscream. Just in time to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Transformers, Hasbro has re-released Starscream with a whiter (and brighter) paintjob. Check out the review here to see if this Starscream fares any better than the original Classics version.

Part two of the reviews covering the Legend class figures is now available for perusal. This time around, we look at the G1 rendition of Brawn, as well as another version of Animated Starscream. See both these figures by clicking here for the review.

Prepare yourselves for the 25th Anniversary blitz that is about to begin! As Hasbro celebrates this milestone, we will see figures from throughout the 25yr history of the franchise. The reminiscing starts with the Legend class figures. This review features 2 of them, Beachcomber and Bumblebee. Click here to read the reviews.

Universe keeps throwing us references of Micromasters. In this instance, the scarce Classics Jetfire mold gets new life as the stealth spy Tread Bolt. Read the review here to see how this update stacks up.

Rounding out the current wave of repaints... er... Universe figures is another G1 regular, Silverstreak. There were complaints before about Prowl not having enough detail. Does the repaint address these issues? Find out by clicking here for the review
