TFormers forum member TheTfboy wrote a special article for Radio Free Cybertron's Transformersdom blog about his first hand experiences with Jagex's long-developed, short-lived Transformers game. Presented in the format of a timeline of events, TheTfboy explains happenings players observed that may not have been apparent to the rest of us, and shows how long the writing was on the wall for the game's ultimate demise only months after it reached the open beta stage. After being playable for roughly as many months as it was years in development, reports that Jagex has pulled the plug on Transformers Universe, the MMO turned MOBA turned whatever they wound up calling it. The Runescape creator will move on to developing its own IP once again; the move is not entirely unexpected after a recent round of layoffs. Keep reading for more details!

Its been a long and rocky road for Jagex's Transformers Universe game. Starting with a very promising preview at BotCon 2011, things moved into the slow lane for the next 3 years with numerous updates and full a change out of the backend moving from an MMO to MOBA style play. The game's Ersatz Transforming robots were not attractive to players and after disappointing earnings, Jagex is said to begin layoffs according to game

Jagex has confirmed today that both Wheeljack and Knock Out, known to fans worldwide as characters from the Transformers TV series, will appear as playable warriors within TRANSFORMERS UNIVERSE. Premature news of their inclusion reached media overnight. While Jagex is willing to confirm their plans to include these, and many other, signature bots, further details of their weapons, equipment, and special attacks will not be forthcoming at this time.

Jagex, the makers of Transformers Universe, have posted "Under The Hood," the first episode of a series answering fan questions about the upcoming game. In this first episode they take questions directly to developers, show a demonstration of the game at Gadget Show Live, and give away an exclusive jacket. Check out the video below for details!

Following the Transformers Universe Founders Initiative that just launched now launched. Jagex has posted a FAQ with details on wants fans get when paying for the different packs they are offering. The big surprise is the $449.99 for the Cybernite pack includes a 1--inch figurine (statue)! This is all very well and good, but it seems to be a bit strange that the game that has been promoted at "Free to Play" for years now has a twist that is going to cost more than meets the wallet. Transformers Universe Founders Initiative has now launched. Before you get too excited about this. Jagex wants you to pay between $44.99 for Silver and $449.99 for the Cybernite levels. According to their site this fee will give early access to valuable resources and bonuses as well as be placed on a Founders Honor Roll, secure early access to Transformers warriors, limited edition bodykits and a collection of in-game items. Transformers Universe are rolling out more bots for their MOBA game. This week we are revealing two new warriors, a former vigilante and a gangsta healer. Judging from the Autobot Meltdown and Decepticon Duststrom character announcements, there will be some more images and so forth later this week with more details on these figures, Get a look at their robot faces along with a part 1 and 2 of Q&A that has been posted to their forums.

As promised the Transformers Universe MOBA game site has revealed details on their new warriors. They have posted new details on the characters Autobot Meltdown and Decepticon Duststrom, who is a Fembot, characters we learned about earlier this week. Transformers Universe is rolling out another playable character for the long awaited online game that will allow fans to battle as transformers type robots. Following the Melt Down reveal, we have our first at Duststorm that appears to be a dune buggy that transforms into what the clip calls the "Ghost Gorilla Face" who also gomes armed with a nice array of weapons you see in the preview clip and images below.

The folks at the Transformers Universe MMO Game have let us know a new warrior approaches this week for Transformers Universe! Here’s a quick preview! Judging from the hashtags and video, this is likely to be Autobot Meltdown based on the Medic style Transformers with weapons like the Motion Spore: Boraya Beam Gun, Fix Field: Starstream Beam Gun, and Hot Heal: Protex Rocket Launcher. But does it matter who or what faction these characters are on with the way this game is designed?

The official Transformers Universe site has posted a few new gameplay screenshots showing us some looks at the early beta version of the game. The three images show the MMO style game with first person and group play views along with notes from Jagex on what is shown.

Finally, after multiple stops and starts, Jagex are getting ready to roll out their Transformers Universe MMO game. Its taken so long that we nearly forgot it was coming. Jagex have released some new images of their Transformers Universe MOBA style game.Yes, it is no longer an MMO game and its pretty unclear how they are going to pull of the Universe part of the game in a MOBA style game when everyone is in it for themselves.
