Alternators Reviews

Originally, Ravage (aka Battle Ravage) was a retooling of Tracks with a jaguar head. Most of the fandom didn't take very well to that approach. Perhaps Hasbro realized the error of their ways. Now, towards the end of the line (for now anyways... I hope), Hasbro is making an attempt to redeem itself by making a more accurate Ravage. Read Review

If there has been any one major complaint with Alternators, it has been that there has been no Decepticon original molds. While Decepticons in general have been far and few between, those that have appeared have been redecos or retools. In this respect, Alternators is going with a bang. There are 2 figures left, both Decepticon, and both original molds. This review covers Rumble, the piledriving former cassette soldier of Soundwave. Read Review

I was fairly surprised when I heard that a second 'Ravage' Alternator was going to be done. Luckily, where I come from, they've released it, so here is a review of one of the most unique Alternators of the line.

Camshaft is a monochromatic car. The body is grey, not silver like Grimlock or platinum like Silverstreak, grey. The entire interior is black. No paint on the dials or seats. The only color is in the headlights where the amber turn signal is, the tail lights, some blue in the trunk where his feet attach, and the license plate. Little Rhodie, the biggest little state in the union. The mold matches the Blue Prowl Version offered from Binaltech, so it’s only new to the U.S. Read More

It seems that the Alternators line has been injected with a breath of fresh air. Optimus Prime started a new cycle of fresh and NEW molds, and there are 2 other new molds forthcoming... possibly more. Featured in this review is Mirage, the lastest new mold from the Alternators line. Mirage is a aristocrat from Cybertron who joined the Autobots. He has the power to bend light in order to render himself invisible. Read More

Nemesis Prime is a Dodge Ram SRT-10 pick-up truck. It is mainly in black with red tinted windshield. As most Alternators, the vehicle mode is modeled very closely to the actual car. One minor problem is the ‘emptiness’ under the bonnet. Though it reveals the engine, it reveals a whole lot of the ground too. Also, the mechanism that moves the 2 front wheels at the same time is a little faulty on my side. It could be just my case. Read More

Optimus Prime has been a name that thru the continuum's has never been left out or faded from view. Hasbro learned after staging Prime's death in TFTM that this is one character that they have to be very careful about. Prime even had a 20th Anniversary edition honoring his original G1 form. This was about the same time that the Alternators line was gearing up. Most fans assumed that the 20th Anniv. Prime would work perfect as the Alternators' leader. However, news broke last year that Prime would sport his own mold for Alternators, in the form of a pickup. There has been a lot of controversy since. Here, at last, is the official Alternators Optimus Prime. Read More

Optimus Prime, one of the biggest if not THE biggest fan favorites of all the TF mythos. Alternators, perhaps one of the most popular and well recieved lines in recent memory. Combine both and is it a match made in heaven or utter disaster? Check out the review here for some thoughts on the latest Optimus Prime

Do we really need a Ricochet review? Of course we do, the Alternators world has changed since Silverstreak was last reviewed. We have more figures to judge him by and more experience with these figures. The blinds have been drawn back. There havent been a lot of changes between this figure and the previous but there are differences. read more

Skids is now a Scion xB, which in itself is known in Japan as the Toyota bB. He retains his navy blue paint scheme, but has been jazzed up a bit with a flame job. Included with this flame job are gold tinted windows, a SCION banner on the windscreen, 7 spoke alloy rims and clear taillights. read more

I like yellow cars. Im not sure if there is a labeled disease for it but I have it. After the uproar that occurred with Dead Ends release I guess it was only a matter of time until this figure was produced. At least one person went as far as to make his user name reflect his opinion of Dead End not being Sunstreaker. So hush up all you crybabies I guess you got your way. Read more

Prowl, instead of being like his brothers and assuming the Subaru form, takes on a whole new form as an Acura (or Honda depending on which shore you lie on) RSX. The exterior is very nicely done. And in homeage to his G1 roots, he even has the Highway Partol badging. Read more

Surrounded by rumor we now have Decepticharge, or at least I do. Im not sure how wide the release will be but when I found him there were two others on the shelf. Between the name, colors, weapons, and availability this figure has been something of an enigma. I hope that by reading this I will not only entertain but also inform and maybe even speculate. Read the review here.

I don’t know about you but I get a thrill out of looking for new figures when they come out. I haven’t looked for this guy near as long as say Grimlock and Swoop, but the thrill was still there when I uncovered him at the Wal-Mart. I was all for getting Grimlock until I saw this guy. He’s an autobot with an awesome remold like the Decepticons usually get. Check out the review here.

I found Alternators Battle Ravage last night while browsing at Target. The original character was named Ravage of course, so this fellow is another victim of trademark loss/change by Hasbro, though I have to say that adding ‘battle’ before his name is a good compromise, so that Ravage remains at least part of his proper name. In that respect he’s fared better than Jazz, who lost his original name completely! Check out the review and pics here.
