About a month ago we were the first to bring you word via Dengeki Hobby that Masterpiece Cheetor's release date had been pushed back
from its planned January date in to February. In the time since, retail websites have begun to reflect this change, and through TakaraTomy Mall, we now have the new Japanese release date to share. Stores in Japan will start selling MP-34 Cheetor in Saturday, February 25th. Whether the mainland Asia release will occur on the same day or possibly be a little earlier as has happened in the past when Japanese release dates have been delayed is currently unknown.
While photography was strictly forbidden, we're getting word that at a presentation from TakaraTomy that just wrapped up, the prototype for Masterpiece Cheetor was revealed. Many attendees were live tweeting information as the event took place, and common themes presented themselves. Hopefully if they're debuting a prototype piece, even with photos prohibited, it means we won't have long to wait for TakaraTomy to publicly release images themselves. Meanwhile, keep reading to hear what the attendees had to say!
The Japanese website Game Watch reports on a current toy show in Japan, and we now have the full lowdown on MP Optimus Primal! Officially numbered MP-32, Convoy (Beast Wars Version) is due out in October at a price of 12,000 Yen (currently $106). Keep reading to see the new images from the show!
Unexpectedly revealed on the Q Transformers website, we have information today that a rerelease is planned for the three Generations Beast Wars update molds. Rattrap, Rhinox and Waspinator have all previously been released by TakaraTomy, but the upcoming EX versions are intended to feature coloring closer to the cartoon, with special note made of Rattrap's eyes being changed from red to black towards that end. These will be exclusive to the Transformers Fest event in early May, so don't count on an easy (or cheap!) time getting hold of these versions. Keep reading for pictures!
Hisashi Yuki is taking a trip down memory lane and sharing some interesting photos on Twitter tonight. From the TakaraTomy archives comes a pair of photos showing a grey prototype of Beast Wars II Galvatron alongside Beast Wars Ultra-class Megatron during the former's development. Galvatron was one of only a tiny number of new molds for Beast Wars II, which mostly used redecos of non-show Beast Wars toys and an assortment of other existing then-recent molds. Click through to have a look at these cool photos!
The e-Hobby site has been updating with a lengthy illustrated story for the Transformers Cloud line, and have just posted part 4 of 6 for the story that accompanies the upcoming Hot Rodimus and Shockwave. While the story's too complex for automated translation to make heads or tails of, head and tails are
involved as this week's illustration shows Hot Rod and Shockwave doing battle as the Beast Wars Maximals and Predacons look on. Keep reading for all four illustrations and a link to the latest story page!
