has posted images of the packaging for Encore
series God Fire Convoy! Perhaps better known to US fans as Omega Prime, the fusion of Optimus Prime and Ultra Magnus from the original 2001 Robots In Disguise
cartoon, the new boxset looks pretty similar to original Car Robots
packaging - click through to see!
Not too long ago we were treated to a selection of voice samples from the brand new sound chip being designed for the Encore edition of Fire Convoy. Alongside the release of this month's Figure King magazine we have a new set of three voice clips, this time featuring God Magnus! Two of them are rather straight forward, but the other clip is just baffling enough with machine translation to defy an easily interpreted meaning. We have the link to the TakaraTomy page with the clips below, go give them a listen now!
The Encore edition of Car Robots Fire Convoy and God Magnus are going to feature updated, and supposedly expanded sound chips featuring a lot of new dialogue and sound effects. To highlight this, TakaraTomy has posted three samples taken from what's going to be put on Fire Convoy's sound chip. Those who've been around long enough to have an original Fire Convoy will recognize that each of the phrases previewed here are brand new to the toy. Click through for a link to the TakaraTomy official site page, and a list of the phrases!
Site sponsor TFSource has posted images of Encore God Fire Convoy! While it's extremely similar to the original release, the new photos distinguish this release with their inclusion of a translucent plastic-bladed Matrix Blade/God Fire Sword as well as a lack of vacuum-metalized parts on Optimus Prime's normal-mode chest. Which is not $280's worth of upgrades to RAC, personally, but does indeed look better to him, and distinguishes this release from the original. Keep reading to see!
Our earlier report indicated that an Encore release of God Fire Convoy (the combined form of Fire Convoy and God Magnus from Car Robots) was solicited for March of 2018. We treated it with due skepticism, but it looks like through a post on Loopaza's Facebook page it's for real. And we have a price tag to go with it: 30,000 Yen. It's a lot of toy in that package, especially with the expectation that the electronics will be kept intact. For reference, when originally released in 2000, Fire Convoy and God Magnus each retailed for 4,980 Yen. Hopefully there will be a giant sword in that Encore packaging smooth the price over a bit!
Singapore fangroup Planet Iacon
has posted to Facebook that March 2018's TakaraTomy Transformers offerings will include a surprise. In addition to the latest round of Legends Series products, TakaraTomy is also producing the first new Encore figure since 2013: God Fire Convoy!
We don't know what Planet Iacon's sources are for this info, but they've been pretty good in the past. But for now, keep reading as you take these listings with a grain of salt.
TakaraTomy has posted a sample image for the package art for Unite Warriors Ruination! "Evil Destronger Combiner Combatron Baldigus," is due in late March and isn't just a recolor of Unite Warriors Bruticus to match his Robots In Disguise recolor, no. TakaraTomy is also adding a suite of combining weapons as well as US Combiner Wars Computron's hands and feet to the mix. Keep reading to see the package art!
This week on QTransformers II: Cliffjumper explains the post-Beast Wars Transformers continuity to Lockdown, including Car Robots, Micron Legend, Super Link, and Galaxy Force! We have to presume that the title is referring to their failure to be
sequels to G1, since the phrase "parallel world" comes up at least once. Keep reading to watch the Japanese-language, dialogue-intensive comedy series!
TakaraTomy designer Hisashi Yuki has shared a couple more interesting images from Car Robots,
the series that would be known as the first Robots In Disguise in the US. First up is more rough preliminary design work for Super Fire Convoy, AKA Optimus Prime. Also, a photo of a special version of Wildride/X-Brawn with clear parts that was used to highlight the detailing of the engine compartment at a toy show. Keep reading to see!
BBTS have posted a pre-order page revealing another possible Transformers 30th Anniversary figure that will be none other than the C-001 Super Fire Convoy action figure. Arguably, one of the best version of Optimus Prime will return as a 2014 Reissue in the 1st Quarter for a of $149.99 USD. This listing is based off preliminary information, the details are not yet fully known and the release itself is not fully confirmed. The $149.99 pricing is confirmed and will not change. Auto Assembly has come and gone and during the show, there was a rather large showcase of the ultra rare Lucky Draw figures. One of the extremely rare ones are the Lucky Draw Black God Magnus from the Japanese series Car Robots (Robots In Disguise in the U.S.) and they have provided a rather large gallery of the figure. In this gallery, they show off the figure and copies of the magazine in which Black God Magnus was a prize. Take a look now
