Site sponsor TFSource has posted images of Encore God Fire Convoy! While it's extremely similar to the original release, the new photos distinguish this release with their inclusion of a translucent plastic-bladed Matrix Blade/God Fire Sword as well as a lack of vacuum-metalized parts on Optimus Prime's normal-mode chest. Which is not $280's worth of upgrades to RAC, personally, but does indeed look better to him, and distinguishes this release from the original. Keep reading to see!
Twitter account continues to share G1 design work! Today, we've got some sketches for Octane, described here in a very British way as a "Tank Lorry"; artwork for a pair of folding launcher bays designed in the Diaclone Car Robots
days, and what are described as figure studies for "erasers," but don't seem to match either the Decoys or the G1 erasers that were produced - at least the US ones. Keep reading to see the images!
The new Legends Series Black Convoy, which is a Tokyo Toy Show exclusive just like the previous Black Convoy figure which was also designated LG-EX because why should toys be easy to talk about? ...I think I lost my point in there somewhere. Okay, the TF_pr Twitter account has shared out a couple new photos of this Black Convoy hanging around Unite Warriors Baldigus, both demonstrating the scale of the robot mode with it, and then seeing Baldigus easily haul around the tanker truck mode. We've got the photos mirrored, click through to have a look!
Loopaza on Facebook has shared out the Transformers-relevant pages from this month's Figure King Magazine. We got a preview of it a couple days ago, focused on the Legends Series Kup and Hot Rod. These new high res scans show very well the detail of the figures' new parts and Targetmasters in testshot form. Also included is exclusive Black Convoy, a DOTM Shockwave statue, and the current campaign sword for The Last Knight toys, plus a full page article about the movie. We've got the pages below, plus a crop out of the Legends testshot panel, so click through and check them out!
Dengeki Hobby has posted images and details for LG-EX Car Robots Black Convoy! Best known as Robots In Disguise (2001) Scourge, the inevitable repaint of Titans Return Voyager Optimus Prime is extensively painted and will first be available at Tokyo Toy Show for 5,600 Yen. In an era of 4,000 Yen Legends Deluxes from TakaraTomy, that's not as bad as it could be. Keep reading for the images!
Twitter user @spriggan_fuku has posted a photo ("reproduced from somewhere") of the upcoming LG-EX Legends Scourge! Known in Japan as "Black Convoy," Scourge was a repaint of G2's Laser Optimus Prime featured in 2001's Robots In Disguise
series- so it probably won't surprise you to learn that this scourge is a repaint of Titans Return
Wave 3 Voyager Optimus Prime. Keep reading to see!
The official Transformers PR Twitter for TakaraTomy has posted new images comparing UW Baldigus to its Car Robots counterpart! A reuse of the Combaticon molds both then and
now, we're coming up on Baldigus' shipping date fairly rapidly. Keep reading to see the photos!
TakaraTomy's TF PR Twitter account has posted a new image of Unite Warriors Megatronia - due out any minute now - and Baldigus, who is expected in May. The translated text of the Tweet reminds us that Megatronia will ship soon! Keep reading to see the image.
This would appear to be it: the second half of Unite Warriors Ruination's tie-in comic by artist Hayato Sakamoto (More Than Meets The Eye
#s 39, 44, 48-9) shows the battle between Ruination and Scourge Grand Prime to prevent Unicron from absconding with the entire planet Cybertron as his new body! While a translation is not yet available, this installment also comes to a definitive end - is Baldigus the last Unite Warriors release? Keep reading to see the pages!
TakaraTomy has posted a sample image for the package art for Unite Warriors Ruination! "Evil Destronger Combiner Combatron Baldigus," is due in late March and isn't just a recolor of Unite Warriors Bruticus to match his Robots In Disguise recolor, no. TakaraTomy is also adding a suite of combining weapons as well as US Combiner Wars Computron's hands and feet to the mix. Keep reading to see the package art!
Dengeki Hobby has posted an article spotlighting the upcoming Unite Warriors release of Baldigus - of course known better to US fans as Ruination from the original Robots in Disguise. Mixed in with reposts of the initial stock photos are some new shots giving us some new angles and possibly slightly more accurate representations of the toys' colors. Also worth noting, we get a better look at the build of the combined guns, which are very ...let's say "utility-driven" rather than based on aesthetics. We've got the images mirrored, click through to see them all!
With noon in Japan having just passed, TakaraTomy Mall has posted the listing page on schedule for the next Unite Warriors set. Baldigus - or Ruination as Robots in Disguise watchers will tend to identify him - is everything you expected: Recolors of the Unite Warriors Combaticons. But just to give that little extra wrinkle, a few new weapons have been tossed in, each figure getting at least one newly added weapon. There's a whole set of stock photos to see, so keep reading for that and more info!
We're just guessing, but we think Hisashi Yuki probably loves the part of his job where he gets to play with toys early and show them off for TakaraTomy. This time, he's showing off the upcoming limited Legends versions of Armada Megatron and Black Convoy, AKA RID `01's Scourge! While Megatron is quite naturally compared to LG-13, Scourge is paired with fellow recent Car Robots homage Gelshark/Sky-Byte! Keep reading to see!
TakaraTomy designer Hisashi Yuki has shared a couple more interesting images from Car Robots,
the series that would be known as the first Robots In Disguise in the US. First up is more rough preliminary design work for Super Fire Convoy, AKA Optimus Prime. Also, a photo of a special version of Wildride/X-Brawn with clear parts that was used to highlight the detailing of the engine compartment at a toy show. Keep reading to see!
