Hot on the heels of the latest delay in launching preregistration with just over three weeks left until the convention starts, the Fun Pub Video Youtube channel has posted a pair of new videos giving a walkthrough demonstration of the new registration system for both regular attendees and exhibitors. At last report, the earliest registration is expected to possibly go live is now Tuesday, May 26th, following additional complications with bringing the new system online. We have the videos embedded below, so click through to have a look.
The official BotCon Twitter has posted stating that the registration system is not ready and will not be ready until after the US Memorial Day holiday weekend. This would put registration as likely beginning on Tuesday, May 26th - roughly three weeks before the actual start of the convention. Keep reading for the Tweets.

Keeping priorities well in line, Fun Publications has followed through on yesterday's promise and posted the first three pages of the at-show comic book story. Featuring Stepper, Battletrap, and Megatron out of the boxset's offerings, the preview is just enough to set up the underlying notion of the story typing the disparate toys together. The final page of the preview also featured an obscured character, who after some guesses to the identity perhaps got too close, was obscured even more. Identity speculation and preview images in the full article!

While we can't know for certain just yet that these Generations Waspinator recolors we reported on earlier are Botcon toys, we do have a good idea of what they're meant to be. Similar to the unknown black Skids seeming to be a Diaclone reference, these Waspinators appear to be set up as stand-ins for the line's Waruder mecha - the origins of the G1 Insecticons, based on the right-most toy sharing coloration with a Waruder toy not adapted in to Transformers. It looks like Botcon may have a Diaclone referential sideline happening this year!
With less than a month left before the doors open to Botcon 2015, Fun Publications has shared the third page of their online teaser comic starring Packrat on their Twitter account. Subsequent tweets today promised a number of additional reveals coming up covering a range of topics. We've got page three mirrored, and you can check that out along with links to the first pages as well as details on what's planned for announcement by clicking the title!
This year's Botcon brochure specified that merchandise in the dealer room that infringes upon Hasbro's intellectual property would not be permitted in the dealer room. While a specific intent was made to avoid using the term "third party" in this, it was still left very ambiguous about where the line would fall in terms of banned goods. Some were obvious, like complete figures based on real characters, but things like accessories and other upgrades remained a question mark. We now have more information on this. Keep reading!
Botcon.com has added a new set of questions to their FAQ page for this year's show. While there's a lot covered here, there are a few important highlights to call attention to. As you may have anticipated already, the general admission attendees will not be permitted any form of access to Frank Welker. Dealer table discount deadlines are going to be changed since pre-registration has been delayed, Wifi is limited to the hotel rooms, and they're still trying to work out transportation between O'Hare and the venue. Amid other Botcon-related happenings today, this almost went unnoticed. We've got our first look at the packaging design for the convention exclusive box set, "Cybertron: Most Wanted". With the toys having been revealed over the course of the last several weeks, this was the last part of the set to be shown off, and this year the box is styled like a desk, complete with keys, pen, and a cup of Pepto Bismol energon in the corner, sure to leave unsightly rings behind. Click through to check out the art!
Fun Publications' Brian Savage has sent out an email explaining that BotCon is working on getting registrations live, but "That will not happen this week." Also, the BotCon block at St. Charles' Pheasant Run Resort is full, and no further rooms are available, nor are they able to find a second hotel in close proximity. But parking, at least, will be free. Keep reading for more details.
