You didn't really think we'd get out of the summer without seeing a black repaint of at least one of the new Optimus Prime molds, did you? Thanks to Autobase Aichi we now know that the Japanese Transformers Expo which takes place in August will have an exclusive version of Evasion Mode Optimus Prime in the familiar Nemesis Prime color scheme. Box Office Mojo reports that Age of Extinction has taken in approximately $41,000,000 on its opening day, which is the record for the year to date. It does continue a pattern of diminishing returns however, as Dark of the Moon took in $43.2 million. The movie has already made another $80 million overseas, so it appears that Hollywood's attempts to court Asia, specifically China, are working. TF4 is estimated to make around $100M domestically in its opening weekend all told. Click through to read the details!




Singapore fangroup Planet Iacon reports that Japanese game and toy manufacturer FuRyu has shown a prototype for a highly detailed Optimus Prime figure based on Lost Age/Age of Extinction. An image of Bumblebee was also shown. Pricing and distribution aren't currently known, though Furyu does make prize figures for UFO Catcher crane machines. Check out the images below!




Once again, Singapore fangroup Planet Iacon delivers with a better shot of the Lucky Draw Optimus Prime figure to be given away at the "Celebration 2014" event to be held at the ToyRUs/BabiesRUs in Sunshine City in Tokyo, Japan. Check out the full-size image below!




Planet Iacon, the Singapore Transformers fanpage, has posted a number of package shots of TakaraTomy's upcoming Transformers 4: Lost Age figures as well as some out-of-package shots of Evasion Mode Optimus Prime and Revenge Optimus Prime, which is made from the Voyager-class Revenge of the Fallen Optimus figure. Takara Designers Shogo Hasui and Hisashi Yuki have tweeted images of the upcoming Advance Edition figures from Transformers 4: Lost age, which sport a greater level of detail and paint than their Age of Extinction counterparts. Mirrored images in the full article!




Robotkingdom's Facebook page has posted pictures of a Platinum Edition 2-pack of Voyager Evasion Mode Optimus Prime and Grimlock, now sporting vac-metal highlights. Click here for mirrored photos and more info!




In addition to Evasion Mode Optimus Prime, User ChErikS on the TFW forums has also gotten Voyager class Grimlock well ahead of the release date, and has posted multiple photos, including a size comparison with his G1 counterpart. Outside of the Hasbro "glamour" shot released post Toy Fair we can see that he looks a bit hunchbacked in Dino Mode. Check out all the photos mirrored below.




Thanks to online retailer Midwestern Southern Hobby who have published the case mix details for the Transformers Age of Extinction toys that will be released on May 17, 2014. Funko's POP Vinyl Twitter account has revealed prototype images of their AoE Optimus Prime, Bumblebee and Drift figures. While we had previously seen Optimus turn up on eBay, this is an official look at all three cast both in white plastic and in color.

Listed are Transformers Construct-Bots, Generations, "Joust Sparkers", "Jousters" , and some miscellaneous figures under the banner Robots in Disguise series name. Some new Transformers 4: Age of Extinction product listings have been discovered in the Walmart online inventory listings. We have seen some of these before on the Hasbro list we reported on previously. The new list has a number of confirmations about the Dinobots as well a names and prices that are going to be definite spoilers for what we may see in the movie. Looks like there's a new Transformers Dark of the Moon Optimus Prime action figure coming our way. Takara Tomy have released an image for an Asia Premium Series AP501 Striker Optimus Prime action figure set. The release will feature the Revenge of the Fallen Leader Optimus Prime mold with a new arsenal of weapons included and is meant to mimic the Dark of the Moon Stealth Force mode. Look for this limited edition figure to be released this fall in late September or early October of 2012. Stay tuned for more images and details are made available.




Could the Transformers Optimus Prime Jetwing Movie figures be coming to the USA as an Amazon exclusive? Just when we thought MECHTECH was dead and gone, this appears. According to a new pre-order page it looks like this set may be coming our way. With a hefty price tag of $105 USD, one can assume this is a larger set with a supreme class figure and accessories in it - better be for that price. The is no information about release date but it does say it will be availble for order outside the USA.
