Via the McDonald's Happy Meal website, we've got the promo image for the next Happy Meal theme coming to McDonald's locations in the US. Robots in Disguise will be making its third appearance alongside a hamburger and apple chips, featuring character figures of Bumblebee, Optimus, Strongarm, and Grimlock, as well as small masks of each of the characters. As is the typical process, the promotion runs with a My Little Pony option for kids more interested in that than robots. We've copied the Transformers promo image, click through to take a look!
Reports are coming in that comics legend Len Wein - creator of Wolverine and Swamp Thing, writer of the "All New, All-Different" X-Men
team, and editor of Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons' Watchmen
- has passed away at the age of 69. While he is perhaps rightly best known for those accomplishments, Wein was also a screenwriter who worked on no less than four different Transformers series: G1, Beast Wars, Beast Machines,
and most recently the current series, Robots In Disguise
. Our condolences go out to Mr. Wein's friends and family.

Today, as I was scanning through Tiny Turbo Changer blindbags at my local Walmart (and completely failing to find a Blackout), the toy department manager took notice and volunteered some new information, given to her straight from the local Hasbro rep, and it's good news indeed if you, like many of us in the US, have been having an awful time finding anything current in stock at Walmart, except for maybe movie line product which is pretty solidly saturated now: Walmart will be setting an "Action Alley" feature for Transformers starting in June. The keen-eyed trademark watches at Transformers@The Moon have reported on Hasbro's latest Transformers trademark: Cybertronics.
What does it mean and what is it for? We won't know for a while, most likely, but it's a toy-related trademark. Could be the tagline for a new action-feature, could be a subline of some sort... or it could even be the subtitle of the animated series to follow Robots In Disguise.
All we can tell you for sure is that, had it been registered 10 or so years ago, it would've been spelled with an X. Keep reading for info on the trademark!
We have some information about the European broadcast of the new season of Robots in Disguise, Combiner Force. RegularCapital has a summary of new shows coming to the European Cartoon Network and Boomerang channels starting in or near May. Among them is RID, which will have a start of May 27th, and is noted as running through Saturday, July the 8th on Saturdays and Sundays. That totals only 13 broadcast timeslots. This may not be indicative for other markets, but it does seem like the expected 26 episode Combiner Force season may be split at least for Europe. More info on US airing when available!
The patent-watches at Transformers@The Moon have reported that Hasbro has just filed a new trademark application for a familiar name: Metroplex
! The trademark is geared towards toys... so are we getting a new Metroplex toy of some sort soon? Keep reading for details of the filing at the US Patent Office and some idle speculation!
We've got a couple pieces of news about the return of the Robots in Disguise cartoon, which will adopt the Combiner Force branding to reflect this year's toy lineup. First we have a Hasbro Studios sales guide document that describes the Robots in Disguise series, including a total number of episodes to offer, which with a little digging gives us a likely number of episodes for the upcoming season. And along that line we also have a possible start date for the cartoon - at least in Canada. Keep reading to find out more!
The UK toy retailer Smyths has posted a listing for the Tiny Turbo Changers
, the new transforming blind-bagged figures revealed last weekend at Toy Fair 2017! Thanks to these listings, we know a couple of new things about these, including their size and an interesting detail about their packaging that could hint at a Transformers: The Last Knight
mobile game. Keep reading to see!
If Cartoon Network scheduling wasn't quite working out for you, a new option for watching recent Robots in Disguise episodes has just opened up. For users in the United States, Netflix has added the entirety of season 2 as well as the 6 extra episodes that followed its conclusion, offering a total of 19 new episodes on the streaming service. We've learned via Q&A time at Toy Fair that the third season, corresponding to the Combiner Force sub-branding, will continue to air on Cartoon Network, though a premiere date has not yet been set. Happy viewing!
