It is being widely reported that the UK branch of ToysRUs has failed to find a buyer and all 100 stores will be closed within six weeks. The first 25% have already closed or will be closing within a few days. There have also been reports via Twitter of TRU UK not honoring store credit and giftcards, so if you're sitting on those in another territory, you might want to spend them now.
Today we're proud to be rolling out a new feature on TFormers! We call it the Wave Tracker, and it's designed to give you an at-a-glance indication of what the most current info about a given toy is. Are there pre-orders up yet for Power of the Primes
Wave 2? What's the next Masterpiece figure being released? Any reviews or photo galleries of the newest TakaraTomy Legends figures out there? If we know, the Wave Tracker will tell you. Keep reading to learn more!
in September that the release of TLK-29 Cogman, originally planned for the end of October, had been delayed with no followup release date given. It's taken a while, but we finally have some good news on this story. An update has been posted by TakaraTomy, and Cogman is back on the schedule. If you were counting on the Japanese release to bring you one of the best toys the Transformers The Last Knight line has to offer, it looks like you're back in business! Click through for the updated release details!
If you don't remember Battle Command Optimus Prime, don't feel bad. It was a TakaraTomy product during their Age of Extinction line designed as a centerpiece figure and vague playset for the One-Step Changer figures of the time. We have a partial catalog image showing this toy coming around again, now under the ID TC-09 (though no sign so far of TC-01 through 08, oddly). At this point we have no information on whether it will have a new deco, or anything else to set it apart from LA-01 Battle Command Optimus, but we should start to learn more before its release in April 2018. New tonight as we have a slightly expanded look at the TakaraTomy Transformers listings for February and March 2018, we now know that rereleases are planned for MPM-3 Movie Masterpiece Bumblebee and TLK-25 Nitro from TakaraTomy's The Last Knight line. This may be welcome news even for US collectors, as distribution for The Last Knight Voyager wave 3 hasn't been extensive. The holiday season often brings poorly stocked waves to discount retailers, so we'll have to wait and see how much problem this continues to be, but at least there may be a backup option available a little later if all else fails.
Confusingly enough, Walmart now has Premier Edition Deluxe Hot Rod listed as in stock on their website with delivery as early as October 2nd. This comes just hours after an Amazon listing was found for the figure in standard retail packaging
, sparking speculation that Walmart might have backed off from some of their The Last Knight exclusives. Whether Hot Rod will ever manage to turn up on store shelves at this point, right now if you're in the US you can order one for $19.99 and bring the unexpectedly long wait for this toy to an end. It surely has not escaped anyone's notice that we're quite a while past the theatrical release of Transformers: The Last Knight
, and a fair number of the exclusives allocated (in the United States) to Walmart from the movie's toyline are yet to materialize, notably including the premier Edition Deluxe Hot Rod. Today a question arises whether those exclusive plans may have been abandoned, as a listing for the Deluxe Hot Rod has turned up on Amazon, showing packaging lacking any exclusive identifiers. What's going on? Keep reading...
We reported earlier on TakaraTomy's release of Cogman being postponed with no projected new release date, but today we've also learned a little more about the (probably largely theoretical) North American Hasbro release of the figure. Entertainment Earth has posted the case loadout for Deluxe Wave 4, and it's not very good news. As expected, Cogman is the only new figure is the wave, but what it ships with should be cause for concern. Keep reading to find out what you can expect.
The miserable distribution of the Deluxe pricepoint of Transformers The Last Knight Premier Edition has probably left you feeling little hope of seeing the tail-end new mold Cogman available for purchase in a store or online without buying a case assortment of things you might already have - or simply don't want
- along with it. The TakaraTomy release of the figure, solicited for the end of October then seemed like a good safety net, provided you were able to get a preorder while they were available. Unfortunately it seems that wasn't so secure of a backup plan either. Keep reading to find out more.
Paramount is running a tournament bracket right now to let fans decide who the top Bot (or Con) is among the movie series cast. A special website is running right now allowing visitors to vote on contestants from both factions, the ultimate winner from each will go head to head. Sadly as of time of writing, Cogman has already lost out of the running, rendering the Autobot side largely meaningless. But - there's still a chance to help Nitro Zeus advance past the first round! Find the link to the site just below in the full post.
Loopaza on Facebook has shared information about TakaraTomy releases during February and March of 2018, including a new batch of Movie The Best figures, a reissue of Masterpiece Bumblebee (the G1 variety, that is), and the next batch of Legends Series after January's assortment of Overlord, Blitzwing, and Autobot Clones - and there's some unexpected items in there! Keep reading to see what's on the way that you need to start saving up for now!
According to Box Office Mojo, Transformers: The Last Knight
has wrapped up its run in at least US theatres as of Thursday, August 24, having clocked in just slightly over 9 weeks on the big screens domestically. Some international markets where the movie opened later may still run for a little while yet, but it's nearing the end of the line. This means that we have a pretty concrete idea of where the final theatrical numbers are going to land. And by this point, there's really no surprises to be had. Keep reading to find out the score...
Paramount Home Media Distribution has officially announced that it will release on 4K Blu-ray 3D Blu-ray and Blu-ray director Michael Bay's blockbuster's Transformers: The Last Knight. The groundbreaking adventure will also be available as part of the Transformers' 5-Movie Blu-ray Collection. All four releases will be available for purchase on September 26.
Variety is reporting on a possibly sticky situation in the movie world going on right now. Executives from Paramount's parent company Viacom are heading to meet the bosses of Huahua Media in China, spurred in no small part by the box office run of The Last Knight
falling well short of expectations. Though other recent failures such as Ghost in The Shell
are also cited, it's no secret Transformers
was the last real hope everyone was holding on to this year. The results of the meeting remain to be seen, but it wouldn't be surprising if Chinese investment in Paramount's productions may be a thing of the past. Keep reading for more...
You voted, and Hasbro listened! The finalists for the Transformers Hall of Fame are in - and in particular, it seems like TFormers' votes for Toy Of The Year were pretty indicative of the finalists! Also included are the finalists for Favorite Character and Favorite Movie Character - keep reading to see the lists for yourself!
