Thanks to primalxconvoy, we've got an in-depth look at some of the Infobar phone Transformers from the au x Transformers project. These were the subject of a crowdfunding campaign in Japan, from which you would get a set of three figures decoed as Optimus Prime, Megatron, and Bumblebee. A movie-inspired Optimus Prime is being released to direct retail. We have photos documenting the unboxing, as well as showing the individual figures, with size comparisons. Plus images of the instructions (in Japanese) and some details about the toys. Keep reading to see the whole works!

TakaraTomy has announced the 2017 Diaclone Expo in Japan! This was originally announced for Saturday, the 8th, but seems to have been pushed back to a rain date of the 12th. Available at the expo will be a new head for Diabattles v2 for 1500 Yen, and the Power Suit C Type Solid Scan Version - which appears to be a clear or translucent plastic version - for 3300 Yen. Keep reading to see the photos!

From the Welcome to Transformers 2010 line comes a reissue of the original 1980s Predaking, featuring a new gold plastic, die-cast and metallic paint! This set includes Predacons Razorclaw, Rampage, Divebomb, Tantrum, and Headstrong. It also includes Razorclaw's cannon, 5 swords, 2 fists, 2 feet, Predaking's head, and a sword for Predaking. Each figure converts from robot to beast and combine to create Predaking! Read on for images and more info.

Finally (for now) on our Tokyo Toy Show tour is a small display of the Infobar phone Transformers under the au X Transformers label. These photos don't appear to show us anything new, but do indicate the project is still moving along. We presume at this point whatever crowdfunding obligation was required to keep this afloat was met, and these items will eventually see a release of some manner. Check out the photos from AmiAmi Hobby News below.

DVD & Video

Amazon Japan has posted preorder listings for a Blu-Ray collection of Fight! Super Robot Lifeform Transformers and Transformers 2010 - the Japanese versions of G1 Seasons 1-2 and 3, respectively. It's priced at 19,440 Yen (about $175 by the current exchange rate), is due for release on December 6th, and is region-free... but not HD-quality. Keep reading for details.

Blu-Ray.com have posted a product listing for the "Transformers Japanese Collection: Victory Blu-ray" that is said to be coming from our friends at Shout! Factory. While there is no confirmation yet, it is likely that fans will finally be able to see the Japanese exclusive cartoon in english. The release date and other details have not been listed. The image is just a place holder for reference until we hear more.

Shout! Factory will release Transformers Victory, the final Japanese Generation 1 Transformers series onto DVD on August 28, 2012, reports TV Shows On DVD. This set consists of four DVDs with an MSRP of $29.93. The set is currently available for pre-order at Amazon for $20.95. In other Japanese Collection-related news, Super-God Masterforce is now in-stock and available for purchase at Amazon as well for $19.99. This series was first released in the Japanese Collection, which collected Headmasters, Super-God Masterforce, and Victory all into one set.

Shout! Factory has confirmed that they will be replacing two discs from the Transformers Japanese Collection that have incorrect subtitles, which we have heard about from multiple people who have purchased this set. "We are moving quickly to fix [the subtitle] errors and manufacture two replacement discs for your set and will ship them to you in about two weeks," the company wrote in an email sent to customers. If you purchased the set from the Shout! store, replacement discs will automatically be shipped to your previously-identified shipping address.

Update: We received confirmation Brian Ward himself that the set is indeed set for January 10, 2012. Full info and press release after the break. Fans, rejoice! The Transformers The Japanese Collection has been (re)set for a release date of January 10, 2012! The online store for Shout! Factory has re-listed the gargantuan 13-DVD set with the Headmasters, Super-God Masterforce, and Victory series for $89.99 plus shipping and handling that includes a bonus lithograph of Headmaster leader Fortress Maximus. While this is quite exciting news, the studio has delayed the set before. Continue reading...
