The site tf-prototype.com has posted a pair of images of a recolor of Generations Arcee in a new, but somewhat familiar color scheme as seen on the cover of the upcoming Combiner Hunters comic. What is this exactly? We're not precisely sure yet, but keep reading for our best guess!
As ExVee posted when the cover to the comic was initially shown, the fact that these very specific new color schemes were shown with very specific weapons on two separate covers points to one thing: toys. And now, that's confirmed! While Tec, the poster who uploaded these photos suggests that this is a BotCon exclusive, there's still that mass-market Combiner Hunters comic, which is very distinctly set in the main IDW universe. And that's something FunPub does not get to do, to our knowledge.
Again, the timing of the release of the comic - late July - points to this figure being part of an SDCC boxset with a similarly redecoed Chromia, Windblade... and possibly an advance version of Victorion, the Fan-Built Combiner. That's entirely speculative, but since the book and SDCC are both tied to Victorion's reveal, it's possible she could be in the set. Hasbro did release a pair of large sets last year, and if that worked out for them they might be up to doing the same this year. Also worth wondering about: will the comic itself be packed in with the set?
We'll find out more soon, at BotCon at the latest if we don't get more leaks before that. Stay tuned!
