Variety have posted an article with new details on Kabam's Transformers MMO game that has been announced for 2017 release. By now, fans are pretty familiar with these tiny games for big bots and finally we have dome details on what this game is about.
As expected, this game will be focused around the Transformers Bay-verse characters along with the recent television offerings that are said will include characters from "Robots In Disguise" and even the "Rescue Bots" series. This is a good and bad news for players as the movie games are less appealing in general, but it is also a challenge to unify many disparate entities into a cohesive environment.
Also revealed is the now common pattern of releasing the initial game as a FREE app that players will need to make purchases in-game to extend the experience. So far, this approach has been more miss than hit as the players advance. The pressure to keep paying more increases as well. So, what may begin as a lot of fan-fare, tends to trail off in excitement after the game is released. This is underscored by the fact that Hasbro are once again leaving the details to Kabam, who will be on the hook for developing the game, and then sharing the revenues with Hasbro.
Hasbro and Kabam are hoping they can hit another "home-run" much like other Kabam games such as “Marvel Contest of Champions,” which is reported to have earned $325 million from 80 million installs, to date. Read the full article at the source link below.
